Tom and I have spent the last few days down in Dorset. My parents had been visiting Bristol over the bank holiday weekend and then were heading down to different parts of Dorset over this past week. As Tom and I also had the week off we decided to go down to stay with him mum in Bridport and then meet up with my parents over one of the days. We met in Lyme Regis and went for lunch, it was nice for Tom's mum and my parents to meet at last. Lyme Regis and the area is known for its fossils which my little brother was interested in and i heard from my parents the next day that he did find a few ammonites. It has also been lovely to see my dad (8th picture down) as we don't get to see each other as much as we should, hopefully they will be able to move closer soon which will be great. I think my parents are quite excited to become grandparents even if it will make them feel a little old (although being in their early fifties they really aren't old at all).
We also spent a day at Lulworth Cove/Durdle Door which had the most amazing turquoise sea, i didn't test out the temperature of the water though! Whenever Tom and i have been to Bridport before we have always gone to the saturday market which has a really good selection of flea market and vintage items. Unfortunately we were down on the wrong days but since we were there last they have opened up a vintage quarter. I have to say its better than any vintage i have found in Bristol, if we had had a car/van i would have spent so much..i am still dreaming about the vintage radio seen in the 6th picture down, it was £50 but so beautiful...(oh and random piece of information, we saw Fiona Phillips off of the telly there too).
Having some time off work together has been really lovely, i fully took advantage of those afternoon naps! I have a little over 8 weeks left of work before i start my maternity leave and am looking forward to getting the house projects we need doing before then started. I still have a week holiday to take so I think it will be good to get some painting/organising done then. At the moment we have bags of stuff in our spare room with no where to tidy them into, i think we may have to make the dreaded weekend trip to IKEA to pick up a wardrobe for the baby clothes today! xoxo
