When Wilf met his great granny Strickland II

Wilf and I woke as usual around 6.30am this Saturday, we had tea in bed with Tom and got ready for our journey to Telford. I decided to take the Ergo over the pushchair which turned out to be a great choice in terms of ease of travel. We got to Telford where my dad and youngest sister and brother met us just before twelve (having left the house at 8am but with two changes and waiting time in between). The journey was pretty pleasant, I got to read a magazine and drink some coffee whilst Wilf made friends with an elderly couple the seat behind.
My dad and siblings had travelled from Aberystwyth that morning, which is just a little too far for me to do very regularly so the last time I saw them was when Wilf had just turned three months old. I know my parents miss Wilf a lot and I wish they were able to live closer.
We had lunch and a catch up and it was nice to have other people entertain Wilf and let me finish my food (I even had a sneaky half a lager). Then we went to visit my granny and introduce her to Wilf for the first time!

My granny has dementia so its often hard for her to remember exactly which grandchild we are but she was very aware that Wilf had been born and my mum had been updating her with photographs. She was really happy to meet him and when they both reached out and held hands it was a really touching moment.

My mum unfortunately couldn't make it as she is suffering with a nasty case of the flu but I'm sure we will visit again soon all four generations.&nbsp

There were some pretty lovely moments on such a pretty day.

However Wilf slept for approx two hours in the whole day, and considering we got home at 11pm it was a long long day. He was fantastic on the train and was fairly content just having his book read to him (over and over) although I did do a little bit of standing in the aisle and jigging up and down.

When we got to bed though he was completely over tired and he cried for a good half an hour, which is really rare for Wilf (I can count the amount of times he has cried probably on one hand). That's not to say he is always happy but he usually just grizzles rather than all out crying. So even though we had a great day I think our next journey will have to be a lot shorter to ensure he is back in bed for 8pm!

He still only slept until 6.30am though so we are having a much slower paced day today, in fact both Wilf and Tom are asleep as I type and I think I may go take a long hot soak.
