Lionheart issue 3 - Adventure

Lionheart Issue Three - Adventure
I am finally getting round to sharing with you my third and final chapter of my piece for Lionheart magazine. I've found these pieces so fun to read back on, they were written a while ago now (this piece about his birth actually coincided with his first birthday) and so it is often a surprise to me to read how I felt at that time! I particularly enjoyed this issue as I felt it featured a brilliant selection of talent and I think the subject of Adventure really struck a cord with me.
Here are a few of my favourite pieces:
For the Love of Jam by Hannah Bullivant a fellow new-ish mama and all round lovely person, check out her blog it is full of happiness
My favourite piece from the third issue was Lydia Sherlock's 'Trees, walls and rocks will all be scaled' it really spoke to me. I have met Lydia a few times now and she has always struck me and such a wonderfully down to earth person, one of those people you just feel at ease with immediately. Lydia has written for Lionheart before and I look forward to reading future articles.
Next up is a blogging friend of mine Ella Masters, I had the pleasure of finally meeting her a couple of weeks ago (albeit briefly). She is an amazing illustrator, in fact Tom got one of her Tattooed men mugs for Christmas off Wilf ;)
I was so happy to see Georgia Coote being interviewed in this issue. She has created patterns for all of the Lionheart issues so far and they have all been stunning. Georgia is also a illustrator friend of mine, her beautiful baby Delilah was born a little before Wilf and is equally as keen as Wilf at sleeping (haha!) so we have shared a fair few emails this year offering each other support on that. I will always be appreciative of Georgia for taking time out in the early days of motherhood to contact me and reassure me that giving birth can be an incredible and beautiful experience. When she told me Delilah's birth story I remember welling up a little with happiness and she in turn told me that my final piece for Lionheart did the same for her!
And so we come to Denise Bovee (I told you there was a lot of good stuff in this issue!) I hadn't heard of Denise until I read this article and her blog is now a favourite of mine. Do check it out for beautiful photography and great writing. What a cool mama!
And lastly I was pleased to see another great illustration from my pal and fellow crayonette Natasha Thompson
