What We Wore

I warn you this post is very image heavy, one of my goals for this year was to try and tell a story with less pictures..but when its pictures of my family its so hard to be that selective!
What We Wore:

Tom -

Leather Jacket - from Start The Bus jumble sale
'Real Men Love Cats' jumper from this shop (a valentines gift from me)
Jeans - Full Circle (circa 2001)
Trainers - Adidas Ivan Lendle (from Sue Rider charity shop)
Shirt - H&M
Badge - Professor Pin from Grrr Feisty

Wilf -

Coat - JoJo Maman Bebe
Cords - H&M girls section
Hat - knitted by his auntie Joc
Knitted boots - Padraig from Born

Jacket - New Look (circa 2007)
Blouse - Primark (last spring)
Skirt - charity shop
Boots - El Natural Lista
Necklace - Grrr Feisty
Gloves - knitted for me by a friends mum

I didn't write a post about my love for Tom on Valentines as I've shared it on my blog before. If you want to read about how we got together then look here
As I've got older and wiser (maybe) I learnt that love and relationships take work. When I was younger I thought if you didn't feel that all consuming head over heels, butterflies in your tummy love everyday then you weren't in love.
We had fun taking these pictures, and then we had an argument. About what, I can't remember and even though on that walk back I was grumping about this and that (in my head) an hour later all was forgotten and I think maybe that is what love is. I will always love Tom but sometimes its a love you have to work at and sometimes the person you love can also drive you round the bend  ;)

I won this necklace and fox badge by Grrr Feisty on this blog

Totally agree; in contrast to the tagline of Love Story, I think love means having to say sorry quite a lot! Love these photos, especially your outfit.

Beautiful pictures. And so true! Long-term love takes an incredible amount of effort to sustain, even when you love someone with your whole heart. True love, I believe, is being willing to put in all that work that it takes. And just for the record- my husband and I drive each other totally crazy multiple times a week. Keeps things interesting, for sure. :) :) :)

Things I love about this post:

Tom is clearly a great thrifter and I love all his second-hand clothes (my mister Greig has grown to love a charity shop too).

Wilf - who always looks cute. I like the fact he's wearing girls' cords. Conversely I often buy my girls trousers from the boys' dept because they do cool tweedy/stripy prints/colours. The same goes for shoes.

You - looking lovely as always and refreshingly honest about the argument. We're all the same really and you're right, it's about working at relationships.

Woah, mammoth comment, sorry x

<3 Sue Ryder too (that's where my mum got G's latest wooly hat and mittens:)

And I love how the brick wall goes with your hair.

I like that Wilf is wearing girl's cords too - down with stereotyping, up with cute clothes!

Your family is too adorable. I really like your notes on love, that's the way I feel sometimes. It takes incredible work. but you wouldn't work on it if it wasn't worth it.

On a more shallow note, your hair is super cool.

ha Kat I love your comment! Yes he was so pleased with these trainers he found in Sue Ryder :) A friend was saying the same about girls shoes! How they are all sequins and pink and she gets them from the boys section too. Thanks for your lovely comment xx

Patricia Sue Ryder is great isn't it, I wonder if certain types of people give to certain charity shops? Thanks for you comment about my hair, actually I think the photo makes it look redder than it is but I liked that it matched too :) xx
