As I mentioned a week or so ago I was lucky enough to have won the Clarks Village competition to become their official blogger. I was totally surprised to find out I won and as well as being totally over the moon they picked me it also gave me a real confidence boost to be considered fashionable, especially as life as mum can sometimes seem anything but fashionable at times ;)
The prize was a super dooper fancy new camera and £200 to spend at the village, what a treat! I headed on down on Saturday to check out the Style Spectacular event they were running and get stuck into some shopping!
As part of the weekend events Clarks Village had put on a marque with various pampering treats and booths set up. There were hand massages, make overs, manicures and neck and shoulder massages. I jumped at the chance to spend ten minutes at the neck massage stall and oh my gosh, I could have fallen asleep! I've never had a professional massage and I'm convinced more than ever I need to get a full massage ASAP, maybe for my birthday (hint hint Tom ;)). They also had two wonderful stylists ( Niki and Lucy) running free hourly style advice where they will take you off to shop for an hour, helping you choose items that will suit your body type and style.
I was handed some 'blogger hot pick' cards to pop on the items I loved and told to get shopping and snapping! It's a hard life being a blogger sometimes.
This post is quite image heavy so click to see more!
I ended up buying A LOT of dresses from the Yumi outlet store which was by far my favourite, some really amazing pieces in there and all priced between £10 - £25! I'll be sure to show you in my 'What Mama Wore' style posts in the near future.
I took a break from shopping to meet lovely blogger Karen and her cute daughter for coffee (and one babyccino), Karen blogs over here, her blog is a new one to me but I love it, especially this post on giving back, what a wonderful idea! As I'm going to be back many time over the next year we have already agreed to use it as the perfect meet up spot. My lovely blogging friend Jess lives locally too so I can't imagine a better place to catch up and let our toddlers run around. On that note it really is a very child friendly place to hang out, with no fear of cars and a wonderful playground (with a fort!).
Being that it is a great place for families I decided to return the next day with Tom and Wilf, they both needed new shoes so it was a good opportunity to get Wilf measured again (this boy grows so fast!) and have a lazy sunday checking out the shops.
so totally not the kind of parents who let their toddler play games on the Iphone whilst they wait for lunch..certainly not..honest
One of the amazing dresses I got from the Yumi store (£25!)
Sometimes shopping with a toddler looks like this..
Tom and Wilf on the other hand quite tiring..
