A trip to the seaside

Mine and Wilf's Hunter's are ℅ of Country House Outdoor
Our Orbit pushchair is ℅ of Born  (and faired very well in the sand!)

Last weekend my good friend Dona and I took Wilf to the sea side, Weston-Super-Mare to be exact. Weston sometimes gets a bad press but both times I have visited I've had a really lovely time. Coming from a seaside town myself I think you have to embrace the touristy side. The last time I visited I was 21 weeks pregnant!

Wilf was really excited to see the sea, and the little train and have chips! In fact we pretty much fitted in all the things you are supposed to do by the sea, including Dona and I playing air hockey in the arcades.

Tom was away for a long weekend, and I have to admit to finding solo parenting for a few days tiring for sure. It always makes me appriciate his help all that much more when he gets back!

Thanks Aunty Dona for a lovely day out!

Fabulous pictures and it looks like a gorgeous beach. I love the pier it reminds me a little of Brighton (not been there - to Weston - I mean from the photos) xxx

I have yet to visit Weston. I think we have put it off as we come from Bournemouth, with it's seven miles of golden sandy beach I think we may have become seaside snobs. ;) Must pay a visit some time though, children don't care!

Ha ha I thought I was the only one who wore Wellingtons on the beach and seeing you wearing your Wellingtons on the beach has made my day you look really yummy.

Nice to see Weston looking as sunny and welcoming as I remember. I grew up just down the road and 98% of my trips to Weston were done in the rain!

Looks like you enjoyed yourself. We love Weston - it's close enough just to visit after Sunday lunch :)
You should look out for drawings of Space hoppers in the sand though :)

Ah lovely photos! It's been yonks since I was last at Weston - I used to love getting a cone of overly salty chips and wandering along the sea front eating them, dodging seagulls - ah memories!

I love the beach out if season - you invariably have it to yourself and who cares if you have to wrap up a bit warmer! Lovely pics xx

Ha! As soon as I saw the pier I recognised Weston. We went last year to do rock pooling and never touched the beach. We didn't get around to visiting this year and I'm in two minds whether travelling all that way would be worth it out of season.I think I'm just going to have to say to hell with it and go.

oh yes I've heard Bournemouth is stunning (never been) I wouldn't blame you for being a seaside snob. I think you have to embrace the touristy side of Weston, get some hot donuts and play some arcade games! ;) x
