Art

We have a wall in our living room that is our 'picture wall'.

It's an ongoing process, which is something I like, the 'unfinished look'. Tom and I have similar taste when it comes to art work (thankfully) and I try to buy at least one or two new prints a year. I am probably more a fan of the 'animals in knitwear' type illustrations where as Tom seems to be drawn to typographic art pieces. We both love Ashley G after Tom first saw one of her prints in a music magazine called 'bearded' when we first started dating.

Tom would probably like our picture wall to be a bit more ordered and umm less wonky. He said we should measure all the pieces we wanted to use and plan them out on the wall before hanging them. They sat in our living room waiting to be hung for weeks and weeks until one day when Tom was out I set about hanging them myself. No structure, no spirt level and no order. I think it gives it more character, Tom may disagree ;)

I've wanted this 'deer wearing gym socks' print from Charmaine Oliver for years so when Art.co.uk contacted me to see if I would like to review their service it didn't take me long to make my choice. I actually chose to have the print pre-framed to as I have a tendency buy prints that then sit around waiting for the perfect frame to appear in a charity shop. I loved that they had a selection of different types of frames to fit with our mix match picture wall.

Initially I did think to chose a new piece for Wilf's room as they also have a great selection of kids prints but then I saw the deer print and took it as a sign. Sorry Wilf! (I'm sure he will be ok).

Thanks Art.co.uk for the print! I'm sure we will be back to add to our wall :)

we were offered a print for this review but all words and thoughts are my own

We've been in our new house for 6 months and still haven't hung any of our art. I love the gallery wall look. I would probably also just go ahead and hang things without much planning. Measuring everything out just seems like too much trouble :)

That's so pretty. I love the colours and the frame goes perfectly with it.

Gorgeous! We are terrible about framing stuff too. And we have an Ashley G print, bought already framed so no excuses! It says 'Let's stay home'.
