Tigerlilly Quinn: A little outing

A little outing

The other day we took a trip into the centre of Bristol to visit the museum. We had realised earlier that week that we had never taken Wilf which is odd as we both used to be regular visitors to the place. Tom and I used to both work round the corner from it so would often go check out the latest exhibition on our lunch breaks together. Since having Wilf I am rarely in that area and we tend not to meet Tom for lunch since nap times are precious for me to get a bit of work done at home.

Wilf spend the entire time edging around the cabinets saying 'this is a bit scary' which we had to kind of agree it was. There are a lot of taxidermy animals in the museum as well as dinosour bones and models etc so I get his point! I tried to make it a little less scary by telling him they weren't real and they were just like teddy bears but Tom stopped me before I made the situation even weirder for him.

Wilf had a kids lunch at the museum but he was starting to look sleepy so we figured we might be able to try and have a little lunch date ourselves whilst he napped in the pushchair. Of course that didn't really work as as soon as he heard the word 'pizza' he was wide awake and demanding a slice for himself and an episode of Peppa Pig to go with it please.

He decided he had enough of us just as soon as the food was over, pulled down his hat and took a nap whilst we walked home. I'm not sure Wilf is ready for the museum for a little while yet but it was a fun morning spent with daddy whilst he was on holiday from work.

(This was new years eve so I indulged in a cheesy pizza before my month of vegan for January!)

NB - A commenter asked where we went for Pizza and it was the Stable by the Harbourside, I would recommend.

Oh my goodness, Wilf's face in that first photo is so precious. Big wide eyes and pouty little mouth, beautiful. Sounds like you had a lovely day together. x

Lovely photos. Wilf is so cute.
Good luck with going vegan for a month, I don't think I could do it. I was vegetarian for 20 years until pregnancy left me craving chicken curry!

Sometimes the loveliest family moments are simple days out like this - spending time together. I wish I still worked in London where it was easy to pop into a gallery every now and then

Awww, that looks like a really lovely day out. The museum sounds great too. I'd love to take mine one day. We've never been to Bristol.

Sounds a nice time and yes, how our lives change when they have to revolve around nap time! My little one just went down for her first one of the day, so a couple minutes of ME time before I do some cleaning. Hope you enjoyed the pizza, because soy cheese is just SO not the same! However, there are a lot of cheese free pizza toppings that you can put on and not miss the cheese (so much). I love pesto on my pizza. Don't know if Wilf is into monkeys as much as pigs, but I'm holding a give-a-way contest on my blog today for a crocheted Sock Monkey hat.

What stunning photos! The pizza does look amazing. I adore pesto on my pizza too, and am right now imagining one with pesto, with some toasted pine nuts and rocket and/or basil sprinkled on top - bliss! Would love to hear your inspiration for vegan January. Do you have a post?

I LOVE the fact he pulled down his hat over his eyes and went to sleep - genius! Some days I wish I could do that! x

You know what. I have never been to Bristol. Oh, apart from an Ikea there years ago. It looks rather splendid, although that could be largely down to your lovely photos.

I'm glad the two of you had fun. I don't know if Wilf is ready for the museum. Have you ever taken him to a kids' museum?

I love doing things like museums and galleries with the kids - they always surprised me and love the things I half expected them not to! How's Veganuary going ?

Oooh, I miss Bristol. I used to live in Warminster so we popped over quite a lot. Considered moving there quite seriously a year or so back, but decided it was too far from family *sigh* maybe one day!

Looks like you had a lovely day. Gorgeous pics as always. Hope your vegan January is going well x
