Interior Design - Bathroom wish list

If there is one part of our home that we haven't really been able to put our stamp on it's the bathroom. It was in reasonable condition when we bought the place and therefor didn't warrant completely ripping out and doing again. Sometimes this is useful and sometimes it means that you just 'get by' for a while without the incentive to make it your own.

After a year or so we spotted a ceramic Belfast style sink in the bargain corner of our beloved IKEA ;) and we were able to replace the very dated sink that came with our home. A year or so later Tom ripped up the laminate flooring and replaced it with blue and white checked tiles he got from yet another bargain corner in some DIY shop.

We are slowly getting there, there are little things that need doing, storage solutions like bathroom wall cabinets for instance. Tom made a make shift small shelf above the bath which is serving fine for the time being. I'm thankful for a boyfriend that can be a bit inventive with thrifty DIY solutions and slowly it is becoming more of our own.

The next big job is a new shower as frankly ours is terrible, it only really runs hot when you have it at the highest the dial can go which I'm sure is not how showers are meant to work and I'm pretty sure it's a least a hundred years old. If we are talking about dream bathroom though a roll top bath is at the very top of that list!

I'm kind of glad we have these little projects to work towards though, I'm not sure what we would work towards if we had everything completed. Maybe we would have to move? Or maybe we could just sit back and save our money for other things, like a holiday ;)

I would love a new bathroom! Ours is so small, one of the houses my mum lived in had a huge bathroom. There was even room for a sofa in it!! x

We're moving house soon, and the house we're hoping to move to has a relatively recent bathroom. It's not to my taste, but I imagine we'll leave it as it is. I've already started planning my new kitchen though.

I'd love to have a bathroom of our own to decorate, ours is a bit tiny at the mo – Paul can't even get in the bath – one day we might even be able to put one of those enormous shower heads in, a girl can dream ay. x

Owning a home is definitely a money-sucker! Travel and enjoy the one time experience or put the money into something that you will see and use everyday - its a tough decision.

Our bathroom is one room we haven't done much too, I'd love a new suite and badly need a new shower too!

We rent, so can't do much of an overhaul, but we re-plastered the wall as it was artex all over - yuk! I agree about the rolltop bath, the stuff of dreams!

I love the ORNELLA HEEL as they would go perfect with the black dresses I often wear when I go out somewhere special, and they are not too high :)
