Our weekend in pictures

Our first real two day Spring weekend,  I think pretty much everyone who was able was rushing out their homes to sit in the parks or their gardens and just enjoy actual real sun! I forgot what it felt like to not need a coat. Wilf said he felt something burning his knees..that would be the warmth of the sun my child, I'm sorry you live in a country that rarely see's it.

We had a picnic on Brandon Hill, can you believe I've lived in Bristol 5 years and yet never knew it had a playground or been up Cabot tower? In all fairness the tower had been closed for a few years, then pregnancy and small babies kind of made it not to accessible. Finally I climbed it, the views are impressive but the height made my heart do funny things so down we went again sharp-ish!

We got our sandwiches from Bougerie on the triangle, I'd totally recommend it for cheapness and quality factor, there is a reason there is often a queue round the corner for the place. After our picnic we treated ourselves to an ice-cream, we had to really, Wilf had started to lick the pretend one pictured above.

Oh and good tip? Try and camouflage your jumper to the grass behind you when taking pictures, doh. If anyone is wondering both my skirt and jumper are from Yumi.*

I made a little video too xx

Aww it was lovely last weekend, I managed to get out for two hours and it was just so nice to feel warmth on my face, the whole world seemed as if they had rushed out to capture the sun. Love photos Fritha. Love the skirt.

I've never been to Bristol. It sounds like a nice place to visit. Slightly miffed that the blossom tree in your pictures is in full bloom, the one in our garden is still bare :-(

Funny, I thought everyone would comment on the ice cream pic. I did have to stare a bit to see if it was one of those perspective ones ;) x

Wow, real signs of spring. Primrose, crocus, and trees in bloom! And I was excited today to see the smallest tip of a bulb, probably a daffodil peeking up through the leaves. Though the other half of the yard that is shaded is still covered in snow! That ice cream cone just screams "Lick me!"

Ahhh, my old stomping ground. We are heading to Bristol this weekend. No matter how many times I have moved in my life, it always feels like going home. I loved in that park as a teenager!

I love the first pic and the ice-cream one is fab! I used to live just off Clifton Triangle so ended up in Brandon Hill a lot, although I know nothing about the tower! x

Beautiful photos, post and day out! You look freash as a daisy in yellow even when camouflaged! I am terrible with heights, especially when kids are at the top too! Love the big icecream. Love the video too. May steal this idea and make a few shorts to share rather than lots of long family videos just for us. x
