An early morning date

Over the weekend Tom and I were able to sneak out for a little early morning coffee date. As you may have gathered by now I LOVE coffee, honestly it's a serious addiction but I'm thinking it's pretty much my only vice nowadays and often a reason to get out the house sooo..you know.

Now Wilf is older he is more than happy to spend a morning with his granny and so the last couple of times we have visited we have been lucky enough to be able to spend a few hours together as a couple. We always make sure we visit the Saturday market in Bridport, the vintage quarter and then coffee and a pastry before heading back.

This is an image heavy post so click below to read on!

Tom's mum told us about a new cafe in town called Soulshine so we made a point to head there and see what it was like. Tom laughed that it was totally 'my kind of place' with all the hipster magazines you can think of for sale and freshly squeezed orange juice drank out of mason jars ;). I joke but it really is a lovely space, there was even the cutest cubby hole under the stairs filled with vintage fisher price toys and Marimekko cushions for the kiddos.

My scarf necklace is from the new collection by BHS which was the perfect addition the my summer dress and a lovely neutral shade for casual daywear. My dress is from my own shop and cardigan from Fever London*.

Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day, seconded only my lunch. You would think that brunch would be the best of both words but really I don't like to mess with the order of the three big meals of the day. Usually by the evening I am already pretty tired so a think breakfast dates may be the way forward!

ooo, now that place looks fab! I want to come next time!! I struggle with breakfast, I can't handle it until I'm back from the school run, but I like to make a proper meal of it when I do, haha!

What a lovely idea for a date. I am big on breakfast but struggle to make the effort at lunch - I ought to try harder on that. Gorgeous captures.

That place looks great. We just have loads of chain coffee shops where I live, every other shop is a coffee shop. I am much more of a tea girl myself :) xx

Hahaha you made me laugh with your last comment about brunch. I also kinda feel the same way, I like breakfast a lot but I am not so sure about mixing (or maybe it's the fear of losing one of the enjoyable meals of the day? :P) You look so beautiful & serene in the pictures!

Breakfast dates do sound great! I'm always tired in the evenings and it feels like a right chore to have to go out! We also have a childcare problem though so breakfast will be full of weetabix being chucked in our faces for a while longer ;) - I really wish I could drink coffee, it might make me more productive, I like the taste but it gives me a headache and heart palpitations! x

Ooh their cucu clocks!! I;ve been looking for one for ages, they might be just about perfect!

So many beautiful items but for me I'd have to pick the tweedy furniture pictured above - perfect for cat lovers, unlike my leather chairs that have been used as scratching posts for years despite having a super-duper post (made by my own fair hands)!

It looks like a totally cool cafe, though by using the word cool, I might not be hip enough to go there. My husband and I use mason jars for most of our drinks, and I was just complimented at the coffee shop yesterday for showing up with my own jar. One of the only things that I am on trend with! Glad you are able to have adult time - we're still waiting...
