I love the idea of throwing pillows on the floor. Sometimes people get so uncomfortable all sitting on one couch.

It's also a good tip to try and take as many unnecessary items out of the room you are entertaining in; we often clear a shelf of books to make room for people to place their drinks.

i love the idea of clearing a shelf of books to make room for drinks. as well as that there's less chance of books getting ruined by spillage, haha.

I love the fact that your cul de sac has a street party every year! That's awesome. Like your tip about using big decorations, I've been meaning to use up a whole load of tissue paper I have stockpiled to make some big pom poms for the Boo's room.

By adding small touches like colourful straws and napkins it can really tie in a theme especially when the rest of the items are mix-match and colourful also.

the most important thing is to be relaxed and make sure you are not stuck in the kitchen all night so that you enjoy yourself too!

I like the tip about using big paper decorations too as I made some for my daughter's party last year and liked them so much I kept them up all year round!
