what we wore + (some) of our weekend in pictures

What we wore:

On me:
Joules yellow parka style jacket - ℅ Joules
White knitted jumper - Yumi
Skinny blue trousers - Primark
White Brogues - ℅ Clarks

On Wilf
Jumper - Boots Mini Club
Paddington trousers - thrifted
Red Kids Wellies - ℅ Joules

Read more about our weekend below!

Wilf's trusty red wellies were becoming too small and no amount of persuasion would coax him into any kind of sensible footwear. This boy loves wellies, I think perhaps because he can put them on himself but also because he knows he is always equipped when chancing upon a good puddle to jump in. I was so pleased when Joules sent him these new ones, as was Wilf, he popped them on his feet, grabbed his Peppa Pig backpack and announced we were off to look for muddy puddles. Good thing then that they also sent me this beautiful mac to shield myself from puddle splashes, which I love, especially the nautical lining, so pretty!

You may remember this picture of my good friend and Wilf in almost identical coats? Well now I can join the yellow parka crew! ;) Seriously though it's a dam fine raincoat by anyones standard and perfect for Spring showers.

We've had such a relaxing time this bank holiday weekend, helped greatly by the weather being so bloomin lovely! One of my favourite things ever is spending the day mooching, coffee drinking and cafe eating. Thankfully my little boy is very much at home in a cafe and Tom is pretty happy to go along with the ride as long as there is good cake. It feels very decadent to eat both breakfast AND lunch out but hey, life is for living right? There is not much for me that tops eating good food mmmm.

We headed to Number 12 Easton for breakfast this Sunday, a regular for me on my after nursery coffee stops and some of the best brownies I ever did have.

After breakfast instead of heading back home we decided to jump on the train to the other side of town and have a mooch around there. It was a total spur of the moment thing with no real plans of what to do when we got off. Luckily Wilf and I found some good sticks and played sword fights, 'on guard!'

As happens on the best of spontaneous journeys we passed a pub and settled there for a while. Wilf's favourite thing right now is collecting stones so a gravely pub garden will keep him happy for the entire time it takes to drink a G&T ;)

Hope you all had a great weekend, there is a post to follow about our adventures on Monday which were frankly quite unusual..

You both look gorgeous, as always :) The town I live in really needs some decent cafes, there isn't a single one, although that's prob for the best as I would spent a fortune otherwise! Going out to eat is so much easier!! x

What a lovely weekend, and I love that parka! seasalt has a similar colour coat that I've wanted for ages but now I'm being swayed to the Joules version...

Ooh, coffee shops and pubs - a woman after my own heart! Great outfits too! And congrats on your Bibs shortlisting, I was thrilled to see my name on the list too! You got my vote, am not a big reader of fashion/style blogs, but really enjoy yours as it mixes in life, family and fabulous photography too x

That toast looks gorgeous and it's making me hungry! My brother would wear nothing but wellies for years when he was younger!

I love your lovely bright clothes and want that yellow coat! I have a bright green Yumi mac and it is my favourite. Makes me feel so much better with cheerful clothes on. Sat in a cafe with my son today, no fussing or wanting to run off - major achievement :)
