Bristol vegfest 2014, bristol family blog, children's activities in bristol
It was Bristol's annual Vegfest at the harbourside this weekend. Tom and I have visited the festival the past three years running and I think it had rained on the last two so it was a welcome change to see the sun shinning for this year's event.
We've tended to just attend in the day as I've either been pregnant or we have a small child/baby and this year was no different. With a plan of action to pick out the best food stalls straight off and settle down to watch some live music it's kind of the perfect scenario for me. This year Wilf was old enough to take part in some of the kids activities so we (ahem I) made some fun juggling balls out of beans and balloons, a flower crown (isn't it pretty!) and Wilf got stuck in making a mask with lots of glitter and feathers.

In case you are wondering:
Shirt (you can just see peeking out) - *Yumi
Jumper - Primark (old season but this one from *Boden is similar)
Brooch - Lucie Ellen (from my shop)
Skirt - Topshop
Bag - Yoshi c/o nigelohara.com
On Wilf:
Shirt - Little Bird for Mothercare
Trousers with suspenders - Zara Kids
Wellies - c/o Joules
Flower crown - VegFest ;)
I have to say, it's unfortunate street food is so expensive as it kind of makes it less available for everyone you know? I reckon a great selling point for being veggie is that you can make so much delicious food for a much lower cost. Although I might just be grumpy about not being able to afford to sample ALL the stalls ;)
^ this is us making juggling balls and flower crowns..this is Wilf pressing them into his eyes, strange child, I love him so ^
After having a mooch around at the festival we were taking by the sign for churros and then kind bummed out by the price, £5 for churros?? we had already spent over £20 on street food so we went on a search for churros elsewhere..
We found churros! At £2.70 so we ordered two, churros all round, hurrah!
This guy, totally embracing his flower crown, in fact he loved it so much it fell off his head when dashing for the bus home and I risked life and limb retrieving it (not really but we did almost miss our ride home).
Until next weekend!

Loving that Boden jumper with yellow and black/white stripes. So cute! You are also rocking that mustard yellow colour :)
That looks like fun. I adore the pics of little Wilf, what a dude. Shame the food wad pricey :( xx
Ooh churros! Cute outfit, I love mustard and pink.
I am loving how brightly you were all dressed. Thought it was going to be a lovely yellow post until I saw the boots. Glad you had a good weekend. I celebrated my birthday on the beach with lego and cake :)

Take unnecessary items out of rooms, so that there's room for people to use the space :-)

That sounds like a fun festival, glad you didn't get wet!
Looks like a lot of fun...sadly we missed it this year.
What a perfect looking day. And those CHURROS! Oh man. They look GOOD. I love a good churros. I watched a street food stall guy make one fresh the other week in Dulwich and it made it taste even better.
Truly stunning, vibrant pictures, I adore Churros-always dip them into thick Spanish hot chocolate in a Spanish cafe I adore in London. I was just back from the Cannes Film Festival so chilled in the rain with my little family whom I missed madly. Looks like you had better weather than us x
great pictures, Wilf looks so funny and cool, dont think ive ever tried Churros
Use colourful straws and napkins
Wilf in the crown is the cuteness! I'm impressed you didn't make one for yourself. Looks brilliant x
What a cool family day out...absolutely love your photographs, gorgeous family! I know what you mean about market food- I thought that in Greenwich recently, if they made it a little cheaper I'm sure people would buy more or take it home for dinner etc. Or smaller portions to try and test! It's so disappointing too if you spend a fortune on something that isn't that great! x
Juggling balls with beans and balloons - what a great idea :) And such lovely photos, it looks like an awesome day out.

Looks like you had a fabulous time and beautiful photos! xx
Add small touches x :)
Throw cushions and blankets on the floor to create a more relaxed space and leave the dining table as a buffet type area.

I haven't made it down to Veg fest yet, it seems as though there's something happening at the harbourside every weekend! And those fountains are a favourite of ours in millennium square!
It looks like you have had a busy week. The veg fest looks like a whole load of fun and a very colourful event.
