Barcelona - Wanderlust

via here

After realising how well Wilf enjoyed travelling on our trip to Paris (and then again to Wales) Tom and I have been excitingly daydreaming about other adventures we can have.

There are so many places that we are excited to visit and explore. Our last holiday as a couple was to Barcelona and we'd love to go back and take Wilf some day. I think next time we would hire a holiday flat like we did in Paris as it really gave us a sense of the city far more than a hotel would do.

I set up this Pinterest board as inspiration, do follow along if you like.

Have you been to Barcelona with kids? Or live there? I'd love to know!

I was in Barcelona in April with Orlaith. Its the 4th time I've taken her there and it's perfect for families. The food is cheap, there's the beach, countless playgrounds around the city, and the most beautiful public parks I've ever been to (If you want to see some examples take a look at the pictures on my blog from my visit), really I couldn't recommend it more for kids (and adults)!!

Oh my gosh I need some of those heeled ones in my life! I didn't think I liked the heel ones but they have them in so many colours and as I'm short they are a much better idea than flats. I have a few pairs of flat ones, Matt hates them but I find them much so comfy xx

I loved them as a kid too and the other day i found a pair of brand new red slip ons from Ju Ju Jellies in the charity shop for £2!!! They are mega comfy and my 4 year old Flo is so envious I think I might have to buy her some of her own :)

Oh! Barcelona! It makes me happy that you are thinking of visiting my city :) and you have compiled a very pretty board here :)

There are lots of places that you will surely love, for instance I think a nice place to have beautiful views of the city is Tibidabo, which is an old funfair, so Wilf could maybe enjoy some of the attractions and it is also so retro cute.

A nice park is Montjuïc mountain on the way to the city's castle, or the labrynth park (which is also fun although a little off the main track!) in Mundet.

CaixaForum is a museum located in an old modernist factory that really worths a visit, not only the building is nice but they always have kids activities for their exhibitions.

A café we really enjoy is Cosmo, a kid friendly place, in Enric Granados a really trendy street in the center of the city. In the Barcelona seaside (Barceloneta neighborhood) we like to eat an ice-cream at Vioko (very scandianvian place) but maybe Wilf will enjoy more the Eyescream place where you can create your monster-ish ice-cream (we had serious fun! :P).

Oh! We also would like to visit one day this fairytale café called Pudding: http://www.tripadvisor.es/Restaurant_Review-g187497-d3399799-Reviews-Pudding-Barcelona_Catalonia.html not sure about the food quality, but the decoration looks great.

We also have some more recommendations of our favorite places in the city here: http://photostorms.blogspot.com.es/2014/01/be-my-guest-cat-you-us.html and in our blog on the Barcelona tab (we are thinking of improving this part by doing a mini the cat, you and us guide sometime :P).

Sorry for this too long comment!!! If you need more recommendations or want to ask for anything about Barcelona, the transportation, accessibility, prices and so on, send us an email, I would love to help and talk about travelling & Barcelona :)

Ooh I haven't been to Barcelona since I was about 19 and even then it was a slightly alcohol fuelled blur! I would love to go back and explore. Love your pins.x

We went to Paris the Easter before I fell pregnant with Pip. We spent a wonderful afternoon in the Jardin De Luxembourg watching old men play petanque, the boats sailing on the pond, frantic chess matches and impossibly glamorous French people. It was sunny and I totally agree, a day to freeze, to return to in troubled times. x

Ah this parks is one of my favourite in Paris and F loved boating too. Wilf is certainly looking very chic. We had one of those moments in Copenhagen where a lady came and started gushing in Danish before she realised and then started telling me what a beautiful family as F was adorable. It totally makes your heart swell x
