A morning trip to Regents Park

What do you do when your toddler wakes at 6am in London and makes you get up too?
..a morning stroll through Regent Park at 7.30am..that's what!

We decided to head to London the day before our trip to Paris. Our Eurostar train wasn't until midday but we figured we might as well make the most of spending a little time in London rather than just heading straight there from Bristol in the morning.

As it happened it ended up tipping it down the day before so we didn't have the greatest options for exploring the city and decided to stay close to our room at the St Pancras Youth Hostel where were staying. With a break in the clouds in the early afternoon we decided to chance a trip to Regents Park which was about a twenty minute walk away. Of course the rain started again and after sheltering under trees and attempting to make fun of the wet playground we called it a day, which was a shame.

The next morning Wilf woke around 6am and as we had breakfast booked at the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel across the road at 10.30 we had a few hours to kill in-between. We decided to give trying Regents Park another go and I'm so glad we did. With not a cloud in the sky we roamed around for a good two hours! We grabbed a coffee and croissant (in preparation for france ;)) on the way to make sure our tummies were a little appeased but not too full and took in the beauty of the area.

I told Tom that morning that the animals that lived in Regents Park were like disney characters they were all so tame and curious. The ducks that waddled over and inspected our hands for bread and cheeky squirrel hopping around all over the place. Wilf had a blast playing hide and seek, picking daisies and dropping stones in the fountains. It was like the London out of Mary Poppins with cheerful gardeners tipping their caps and greeting Wilf as he ran around. Can you tell I've fallen in love with Regents Park? I'm falling harder and harder for London in general if I'm honest with you!

Here is a little video I took of our morning, I hope you like it!

I love your outfit!!! And the video is so sweet. I just had to watch it with the volume down and the summer song from frozen on as Mia requested it. The video went quite nicely along with it ;) x

At first those early morning wake-ups seem dreadfully unfair when you're on vacation, but they have actually turned out really great for us. The little babe is in a good mood and raring to go, there are hardly any people out at those wee hours of the day, and so you can enjoy some new places without the crowds. Having a good cup of coffee or tea in hand always makes it better too!

I've never been but if I do got then it would definitely be super early when there aren't many people around. Other people ruin everything! x

It's so lush there, we used to go a lot when we were hanging around Marylebone at our IVF clinic all the time. Peaceful!
