This weekend we spent a little time at the SS Great Britain

Over the weekend we took Wilf to the SS Great Britain in Bristol. Tom and I had been once before to attended a wedding and knew Wilf would have a blast so were waiting for some nice weather to make the trip again.
The weather forecast predicted rain but we figured we would be inside the boat for a while anyway and decided to risk it. Loaded with anoruaks and brollies 'just incase' it turned out it was the sunniest of days without a drop of rain! In fact it was so super hot we couldn't really bare to be inside the ship for very long and spent a good while just running around the desk.
We had told Wilf the night before we were going on a real ship the next day, which in hindsight was a bit silly of us. The amount of times he woke up and asked when we could go on the 'pirate ship'. I think he may have enjoyed himself just a little bit ;)
Clarks were kind enough to send Wilf and I some new sandals and the tickets for our day out on the SS Great Britain as part of their #freeyourfeet Instagram campaign. I have wanted these Orla Kiely sandals as soon as I had set my eyes on them, (you can see a little post on the range here). I can confirm they are super comfy and easy to walk in, I've not worn a heel/wedge since I had Wilf so I was wondering how well I would take to them. I even had a few compliments about them from other visitors there! It was the first time I've worn sandals this year too!
Wilf was really excited about his sandals too, especially as he is able to put them on and use the velcro himself. Somehow I even managed to match them to these dungarees I had found in the charity shop earlier that day.
We had such a lovely afternoon, we'll certainly be back SS Great Britain!
You can take part in the Clarks 'Free Your Feet' campaign with a chance of winning spa vouchers and free shoes by posting your sandal pics on IG.

I love happiness lists. It is something I would like to do regularly. I love the feeling of excitement when you have something to look forward to, you feel like a child waiting for Christmas xx
I really need to visit Bristol. It sounds like such a wonderful place and way way way better than my dump of a town ;) x
My bois and I really love Bristol. Such a bonus having friends living there, we love visiting. And this ship has always been our fave place to visit.
I do a list of the small things that make me happy each month and I think that it is a great reminder of making the most of what we have. I do not think that happiness is something I deserve, but something that I earn and make myself. Forme experiences give much more lasting happiness than things
I think sitting and thinking about what makes you happy makes you appreciate what you have in your life. It helps to look on the happy things as they make you realise that when times are hard there is always the silver lining x
I think we get so caught up in life that we don't realise sometimes what actually makes us happy. This is me to a tee. I need to take the time to realise what makes me happy and do that more. I really don't think it is healthy to be happy 100% of the time, all emotions are needed for a rounded life but more happiness would be gratefully appreciated.
I think there's definitely something to be said about appreciating the little things and being grateful. I am often my own worst enemy when it comes to feeling happy. x
Lovely x Love the video. Elinor x
I adore your pink dress Fritha! You both look lovely!
Jac
lovely photos... we ran out of time for visiting here when we were in Bristol - next time!
You look amazing, from head to toe! That lipstick is perfect for you too. We haven't been on the SS Great Britain yet. Funnily enough, just yesterday Talitha was asking to go on a "pirate's ship" so I'm thinking this will be the way to go.
you both look gorgeous and ready for summer, love dungarees my daughters asked for them and we just got her some for her biday x
your dress looks lovely and the boat its looks huge, beautiful and surreal
Contentment is valuable and "collecting happy" is a route the realising it. That said, I do think that at least some of our happiness has to come from making others happy.
Reminding myself to be grateful for small happinesses, and not take them for granted, makes a real difference to how stressed I get. I just need to remind myself to do it!
I'd love to visit a ship like that. It looks wonderful. I love your sandals, very stylish.
The competition sounds great, off to find the link!
I've started a little happiness book - I don't write in it every day, but I jot down things that make me happy ^_^ x
Being happy is so important. I have just recently made decisions that I know will stop me being unhappy.
I did start doing the 100 happy days photos but in the end I seemed to be forcing things some days so what's the point? It's OK to be unhappy some of the time, we all have down days - I think anyone that is happy all the time must be quite annoying :p I do think it is good to look at things you have in your life to make you grateful though.
After a tough couple of months in my family, I'm looking for a piece of happiness in every day life at the moment. I am so grateful for the love of a wonderful family and the sunshine when we get it x
It looks lovely Fritha and your pink dress is beautiful. x
So glad you mentioned where Wilf's sandals were from, I was going to ask in the comments! I wonder if they come in my size too?
I would say I usually try to focus on the positive but I also have the occasional day (usually before my period) where I'm just miserable and pee'd off and nothing can really snap me out of it. Instead of trying I just accept it now as there is nothing less likely to get me out of a mood then thinking about how I should be happy. That's why I never really understood the 100 happy day things, cool if it works for some people but there is now way I could force myself to be happy for that many days in a row!! x
I get serious photo envy over here.!!!!
Oh wow that looks fantastic! Loving your outfit and the video
Looks like a great day out, and the pictures (and shoes) are amazing too :-)
Those sandals look gorgeous! Glad you had a lovely day.
I'm trying to focus on a few things that make me happy - I think as parents, we often put everyone else first and don't take enough time for ourselves so I'm making time to do some things I know I enjoy x x
I love making lists about things that make me happy. It helps on those days when everyday life gets you down.
I've never made a happy list... maybe I should... how do you pick just a few "happy things"?
I think it's a good idea to re-cap the day & try to be grateful on a daily basis - it's good for the soul. I have had no time for yoga lately, but at the end of a session, when I slip into thinking about all the things I want to be thankful for, i'm instantly calmer and that makes for a happy me, lol! I need to try to remember this though, when it's all got too much and i'm wishing I was anywhere else but here, lol!
