Sorry to leave you hanging guys! Here's part two!
So where was I?
Oh yes so I was following Tom down the cobbled streets of the market, through some iron gates, a courtyard then into Brooks Guesthouse..up the lift and..where are we going? Up two flights of stairs and onto the room where I see these rockets!
Tom says that number 3 is ours for the night and inside is full of lots of packages. Each one is filled with the most thoughtful and thought out outfits, from hand made to up-cycled vintage to ethical dresses from my favourite brands. Tom knows how much I love fashion and photography so he set up a mini fashion shoot for each item of clothes (there were 8 in total, although he did say there wasn't meant to be that much it got a little out of hand'). Under the pretence that renting the rocket out for a fun afternoon of photography and fashion I had tooootally sussed him out by this point.
Finally I was told to go into the caravan for my last gift and found this upon the table..
When Tom and I first met it was at a Dylan Moran gig, I was going with my friend Dona and some friends and she said she had also invited a friend she used to work with (Tom).
Tom and I were the only two who didn't smoke so we spent a lot of that evening chatting indoors and then again at the pub afterwards. On Monday morning I went to work and email popped up from my friend Dona with the sentence 'I think my friend Tom likes you' and had forwarded on an email from Tom to her which read:
'Your friend Fritha is lovely. I would like to marry her and live under the sea in a castle made of marshmallows. She would make earrings out of shells to sell to fish and I would support her even though fish don’t have ears. Obviously the business would fail and we would lose the marshmallow castle, but we would be happy, because we would have each other'
Now some people might find that a little over the top but luckily I'm the sort that finds it deeply romantic ;)
I found a ring and a note for me inside the caravan which read:
I said something like 'of course I will' and then Tom realised he hadn't actually asked me properly so got down on one knee and asked me again to which I said 'yer all right'
After this we met our friends Dona (of course!) and her boyfriend Dan for some bowling in The Lanes and after that dinner! Tom had intended to take me out dancing too but we were both so tired come ten that we felt like ending the night there. Unfortunately Tom has attended a works picnic the night before and picked up some lovely food poisoning there (as did his entire office we found out later) as from around 4am in the morning he was super poorly until pretty much Monday..not the most romantic ending to the day but we're thankful it didn't happen earlier of course.
It's been a week today and we've already set the date, booked the venue and I've got my dress! Who said planning a wedding in two and a bit months would be stressful? ;)
You can read part one here hope you liked our little engagement story!

Hips Like Cinderella
congratulations! what a romantic story, seriously. I had never planned to get married either, but when it happened it was great and such an extra dose of love. far away from home, including riding a public bus, a drunk photographer and coffee at starbuck, as there was nothing else. and after 12 years it still feels so good.
I'm in bits over that email (and subsequent note) - one to show Wilf and the grandchildren one day! x
What a lovely and well thought-out proposal - well done Tom! And congratulations guys :) x
Ahhhh Fritha - this is lovely! x
Such a thoughtful proposal, I love that Tom rented the rocket and brought all the beautiful dresses for a fun photoshoot, dreamy for any fashion lover girl (as me! :P) but specially it is the sweetest thing ever that he re-built that first email (and ohmy, earrings out of shells for fish! that somehow reminds me of the main character of Big fish with his beautiful tales). I'm very happy for you guys! a big congrats and hug from Barcelona. And hope you can share soon more details about your wedding, can't wait to see more of it (aka wedding dress as soon as possible, hahahahaha just kidding...kinda) xxx
