Our Weekend In Pictures

It was Tom's birthday over the weekend and he decided to have a quiet one especially after the excitement of last weekend. It also rained for the first time in weeks, we had a huge thunderstorm through the night which was much needed to break all this humidity.

(Wilf's shirt is c/o JoJo Maman Bebe)

My friend Lori told me about this new place on Gloucester Road called Bakers and Co which is inspired by the San Fransisco cafe scene.

If you didn't know me by now I am always on the hunt for a new cafe hang out so I dragged my little family though the rain on Saturday morning to check it out

We filled our tummies with huevos rancheros (Tom and I) and banana bread (Wilf). We slurped coffees/babyccinos/juice until we realised we were in fact too full to even try one of their delicious looking cakes.

All the more reason to come back again I guess!

I also dragged Tom vintage shopping..but did treat him to cake after!

Tom's card made by Wilf and that lovely time when wine-o-clock rolls round

I dressed them matchy matchy because it's the little things right?

I've been testing out our new Vitamix with lots of heathly juices..*cough cough* all about the frappuccino's right now ;) although I'll be posting lots of recipes soon!

On Sunday we headed over to see some of Tom's family a little outside of Bristol. Wilf had great fun playing with his cousins and has been talking about it quite a bit since so a sleep over with the boys might be planned sometime soon.

We spent the afternoon shopping in Bristol for parts of Tom's wedding outfit which was fun and despite his lack of nap Wilf was a good sport and enjoyed the outing too. Tom is now almost sorted for what he is going to wear and I'm eagerly awaiting my dress in the post to see what it looks like in 'real life'. Exciting!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend too!

ha I love that, she should defo choose Cumberbatch! I can totally see why you wouldn't want to keep your ex's surname when you met Al. I guess I'm just quite attached to mine especially as it's my mums and I quite like to carry down that tradition in a way. And yes lots of people think I'm a Quinn anyway! x

It's funny isn't it I think I associate it with that as my parents are also atheist and they don't agree with marriage (or rather they just see it as silly) where as all my friends who's parents were married also called themselves Christians..although I don't think I ever saw any of them go to church or do anything slightly religious. I think Tom see's marriage as another sign of being committed where as I've never grown up with that connotation and more than my parents view that raising children was when you decided you would be with someone for ever and ever. I do really want to celebrate being with Tom and being a family with all our friends (and some family, my parents are not coming as they would feel too awkward) so I can't wait for that! Defo looking into Offbeat Bride now! (and I love that you walked down together) x

I too feel a bit weird about being 'a wife' although I know some people find that very romantic. I think I feel the same as you! I think we are quite similar in our thinking! x

I can totally relate to that and think that I was very much that person at one point. Thankfully I think becoming a mother really wiped that insecurity from me and it never occurred to me that Tom would leave once we had a child together! Maybe it's because my parents sort of raised me to believe that having a child and raising it was the biggest commitment I never really thought we wouldn't be together 'for ever and ever' once we become parents. I am really looking forward to celebrating togetherness though! xx

I guess I can't really comment on how I will feel when we get married, I say that I don't think anything could change but then again maybe it will. I do think there is something very romantic however about declaring you want to be with someone for the rest of your life and I can't wait to celebrate that with our friends! xx

Oh I love these photos!!! Sounds like a wonderful spot in the zoo, when we go next I am going to look out for it. When it comes to marriage I think everyone has to do what feels right, there is nothing wrong with celebrating you love for someone or wanting to make a commitment for life (I know you don't need to sign a paper for that but it's still nice) Either way you both make a lovely couple and wonderful parents
