Did you ever see anyone so happy to have a croissant? pinterest uk, blogstock, camping with hertz
A couple of weeks ago myself and my pal Laura attended BlogStock the UK's first blogging festival.

I have to admit I'm not the sort of person that enjoys camping, in fact the last time I had done so was as a teenager with a couple of friends on a surfing holiday (bet you can't imagine me surfing can you? Best not to really). It involved waking up feeling a bit worse for wear after one too many drinks and realising I was in a tent, which is not the most comfortable start to a hangover.
Thankfully I was offered a gorgeous bell tent courtesy of Hertz and offered a ticket to check out the festival. So Laura who was curious to see what it would be like too became my camping buddy, 99% of these photos were also taken by her because I was being a rubbish a blogger and didn't take my camera, the top one was from Alison of us three.
We arrived on Friday evening within minutes to hear Alison's talk on how to write for magazines. I was really annoyed I'd missed hearing her talk at a recent blogging conference so was keen to check out what she had to say. As I thought the talk was super useful and has given me a few ideas on the subject. Whilst blogging is my main job I always think it's useful to have your eggs in a few baskets and I love the idea of writing more for publications. It also make me laugh at my teachers who told me I would never be able to write for a living because of my dyslexia ;)
After this we headed to the drinks tent for a G&T and a catch up (as you can see from the fourth pic from the bottom we were having a serious chat about something intellectual clearly). The food option was noodles and we made it to the food tent before torrential rain. After spending a few hours in the main tent we decided to call it an early night and head back to our cosy home for the night and chat in our sleeping bags. Laura has an excuse for this as she is pregnant, I'm pretty much just an old lady in a twenty somethings body.
We took breakfast with Pinterest in the morning which was fantastic! I learnt so much from those girls, it was really interesting to hear about the site from the actual people who work for them rather than bloggers sharing their tips for Pinterest success. They are such a down-to-earth company and made me love them even more.
The rest of the day was spent milling around a bit, meeting new-to-me bloggers, finally chatting to some I'd followed for ages and catching up with friends. The food options on the second day were a burger fan or the noodle tent again which was a bit disappointing. Due to this we did have to leave in the afternoon in search of lunch. I think there were some things that could have been improved on a little but for a first time blogging festival I had a fun time. It was certainly worth the 24 hours there if only for Alison's and Pinterest's talk alone if I'm honest!
Thanks again to Hertz for the beautiful bell tent to help this non-camper have a lovely camp and the pims too!

I would have loved to hear both those talks. It feels like I haven't been to a blogging conference for ages and I'm going to have to wait until next year now (unless I squeeze a sneaky one in sooner). Lucky you, bell tents are wonderful. P.S. I know you've had it ages but I still adore that cardi! x
