I mentioned briefly in this post that myself and Lori stayed in a pretty swish pad when on our jolly to London. It was quite frankly luxurious and such a treat! I don't think I've ever actually set foot in Mayfair before and my only previous connection to it was being thrilled when I stepped on the space on the Monopoly board (a game my family refuse to play with me due to my competitiveness).
We were invited to stay at The Athenaeum Hotel and this is how we found it.

When we arrived at the Hotel we were greeted by Jim the lovely doorman and shown to our apartment which was situated round the corner from the main entrance. We chatted to the staff as we checked in and were wished the best of luck for our nominations in the awards ceremony we were off to later that night.
Our apartment came stocked with a full complementary mini bar full of pretty much any soft or alcoholic drink you could want and after a quick G&T we started getting ready for our evening. It also came with a hob and cupboards full of dinnerware and pots and pans, as well as a dinning area which would be perfect if you were staying for a couple of days and wanted to cook for yourself.
I love that top photo of Lori sitting at the desk, it looks like she's taking very important business calls. Which of course she was..and not selecting which selfie to share on IG ;)
The bathroom was stocked with everything you could need for an overnight stay and we spent a good half an hour in our Athenaeum dressing gowns and slippers whilst we did our make up and painted our nails (girlie time is the best!).
We grabbed a quick drink in the bar of the hotel before a taxi was called for us and we were rushed away to the awards!
After an evening of much fun we collapsed back in our beds around 2am and I had one of the best night sleep I've had in a long time. Our mum body clocks forced us awake relatively early but the thought of the breakfast waiting downstairs for us soon made me forget my tiredness.
We were both completely distracted by the tiny muesli in jars and also the creme brûlée (you wouldn't think it would work as a breakfast item but it so does). After coffee had been drank and breakfast had been ordered (poached eggs for me, eggs florentine for Lori) we set off to leave. I'm still sort of cursing myself for not being able to fit in any waffles because they looked so good, there's always next time I guess ;)
We had such a fantastic stay at The Athenaeum, I was still gushing about the place days after (sorry Tom) a real treat which was the icing on the cake of a wonderful weekend.
Wait one last posing in the door way shot ;) (thanks for indulging me)
p.s my dress is c/o Anthropologie* in case you were wondering!

Love the Belair X 6-12 City Slicker is my absolute favourite, but must say I like several including the prize. I'm kind of old fashioned & sentimental so I prefer traditional photography to digital partially because I like real photographs in the home & I find that printing digital images always gets put off. :)
