Amsterdam!

I know we only just came from our weekend in Paris but we are headed off on another adventure this weekend. This time we are spending a couple of days in Amsterdam courtesy of KLM airlines! We've never actually flown anywhere since having Wilf so I'm excited to travel with him, I'm usually a little fearful of flying but funny enough I'm (currently) feeling surprisingly calm about it.

I think I lot of things changed when I became a mum and being more confident is certainly one of them, I don't just mean socially but also in my capability to do certain things. For example before Wilf I was scared of things like travelling on the tube or to places I hadn't been before, but now I just have a 'let's get on with it' sort of attitude. I'm hoping this applies to my nervousness about flying, we'll have to see! ;)

One of the things that's great about being able to fly with KLM is that we can travel straight from Bristol, I actually had no idea you could fly from Bristol to Amsterdam and just assumed you needed to go via a bigger airport like London or Cardiff. It means our journey will be a lot less stressful having to only hop on a bus a short distance to get there.

Amsterdam is one of those places I've wanted to visit for so long. I'm really excited about visiting the flower market and maybe taking a trip on a canal boat. I'm also very excited to check out the vintage shops as I've been told by a few people they are amazing! Wilf is beyond excited about traveling on a plane and being in another country, we were so surprised by how well he travelled when we took a trip to France earlier in the year. It's so great to know that these are things he enjoys and as a parent it's wonderful to be given a chance to show him different places and cultures. We feel very lucky for sure!

Have you been to Amsterdam? Would you recommend we visit anywhere in particular?

So exciting!!! Congrats on your trip to Amsterdam. We will be heading there at the end of December. Will the Light Festival be going on when you are there?

Much more beautiful than it's ever given credit for. And enjoy the fact that the Dutch are one of the tallest nations on earth, which I believe gives you better legroom on the plane, and, you might find, higher toilets!

Amsterdam is lovely, I bet Wilf will love it! Have fun. I have no advice about where to go, I haven't been since my younger days, so I can't offer any family friendly joints. Ha, joints. x

I've not been to Amsterdam so I can't offer any advice, I'm afraid. Hope you all have a lovely time. I think that becoming a parent does push you to get on with things more, I have certainly found that too since having my children.

Amsterdam is my all-time favourite place for a break. I first visited in in October, and fell in love with the calm tranquility of the streets. A stroll along Prinsenchracht would be my recommendation. And Anne Frank's House is a must-see. Have a wonderful time!

Wow! Vintage shops sound amazing! It's weird because I used to say exactly the same thing about how becoming a parent had given me so much more confidence to do things that I was worried about before. I flew to Spain on my own with Cherry when she was 3 months old! Then it all wore off though because now I would struggle to fly with Matt there! Although I do think a big part of it is that I always fly with Easyjet and I find their planes too noisy and small, they freak me out! Have an amazing time, can't wait to read all about it xx
