Celebrating inspiring women - #arwoman

I was recently asked by Atterley Road (a fashion brand stocked full of beautiful items) to join in with their #arwoman campaign to celebrate women that inspire you.

I find women in generally pretty inspiring tbh and more so since becoming a mother. I feel empowered when I am surrounded by creative, inspiring ladies and I'm lucky enough to call a good bunch of them my friends. I would be here forever if I listed each woman in my life who I wanted to celebrate but I wanted to mention just a few before I move on to a lady who I believe truly deserves to be called inspirational.

Let's start with my mother of course, we may lead very different lives & disagree on a few things but I believe she helped make me the person I am today. She instilled in me the belief that to be kind was the most important thing in life, something I try to live my life by. She also taught me about feminism and to question what I might not believe is right and have the confidence to believe in myself to do so.

Good friends like Lori and Nichola who share my creative drive and work ethic and who inspire me to be excited about and have faith in what I can achieve. People like Adele who's gentle parenting and non-judgemental support remind me to be the parent I want to be. Jess's creativity, generosity and honesty when it comes to motherhood and the lovely Katie who paints it so well with her words and photos.

The person I really want to talk about today though is my friend Emma.

The first thing to note is that Emma will probably be mortified I have decided to write about her. She will claim she is not inspiring but this is so far from the truth. Emma is one of most inspiring people I have ever met. She's one of those people that make you want to be a better person without making you feel bad about it. She is open minded, funny and someone you feel you could chat to for hours without running out of things to say.

Emma is a twenty something mum of two beautiful children. She set up a charity to help disadvantaged families in her local area called First Days. Believing that every child deserves the same start in life she helps find families the items they desperately need for their children. Knowing there are people like Emma in the world who's kindness and compassion to help others can actually change people's life inspires me immensely. Actually even writing this has reminded me of how much I could do to help, if it's made you feel the same way then do check out her site.

Who inspires you? I'd love to know! In fact If you want to join in then post a picture of a woman who inspires you on Instagram, tag it @AtterleyRoad #ARWOMAN and nominate some friends to do the same.

p.s if we are going to talk wish list I'd be picking this jumper!

What a super place to chill out. I go to a gym and spa which is set in lovely countryside. I do classes and swim too. The best part is having a cappuccino in the café afterwards and flicking through all the lifestyle mags they have.

Living simple is living from heart. Never try to do what other's do, just listen to your inner core and you will get the path.

I listen to my heart and I wrote some lines here => happytomeet.blogspot.com

I can't believe I've still not been to the Lido! I'm thinking I need to rectify this soon! I find that getting out of the city and going for a walk in the woods always helps me clear my head.

Oh yet another ubercool place to hang out in Bristol, it's full of them! I should do this more often but my laptop seems quite heavy to be carrying it around much. Is this a sign I need a new, lightweight laptop!!?? Out of interest what do you use currently and would you recommend it? x

So pleased you introduced me to it the other day, I would be hanging out in there all the time if I lived in Bristol. The cakes looked amazing!! xx

I love Bristol Lido *sigh*, especially when it's dark outside and you can see people swimming up and down all lit up. It's beautiful!

Ah this is such a great choice and after watching Emma's vlog the other day where she was talking about the amazing things she does I thought to myself that I would have chosen her had I joined in with this campaign. And thank you so much for the lovely things you said about me too! You also inspire me with your awesome taste in fashion and your amazing graffiti wall photos! I'm determined to locate some in my neck of the woods ;) xx
