Out wit the weather and taking a day off

The other day after dropping on Wilf at nursery I decided to ditch my normal work routine and head into town to see my friend Lori. I always feel a bit guilty having 'fun' when W is in childcare but I figure as long as he is having fun too it's OK.

We had the cheese toast and walnut salad to share, it's reminded me how much I actually do love salad!

I know that mine and Wilf's time apart, even if for a few hours always reminds me how exciting it is to see him again. Having a bit of non 'mummy-ing' time always re-energises me and I honestly feel makes me a less snappy more patient kind of parent. I've been struggling a little lately with the realisation that he will be starting school next year *gulp* and so this will be the last year and a bit of full days together. I'm taking note to appreciate all the time we have together now whilst part of me wants to freeze time so that he never has to grow up and old enough for full time education.

Anyway

Lori and I met up for coffee and after setting the world to right about this and that we decided to trundle around our beautiful city for a while, both with our camera's being obnoxious bloggers who just have to stop and record everything ;)

It had started to shower a little so we goofed around in our matching - non matching pink and green raincoats we have both received from Joules. Our matchy-ess is becoming a bit of a running joke lately as we keep accidentally posting similar photos at the same time on IG as well as choosing the same items when it comes to stationary and clothes. What can I say, great minds ey? Luckily we both this funny and it's not quite as funny as the time my friend Kat and I showed up at the same place one in the top and the other in the matching bottom of the same outfit ;)

After it really started chucking it down we heading into Bar Buvette, for anyone local to Bristol it's defo worth a visit although I hear it gets pretty busy in the evening. Thankfully as most people were at work we had the place to ourselves and were able to take lots of pics and enjoy a glass of wine with some delicious food.

my coat was c/o joules

Your raincoats look great and your photos are as lovely as ever. I may have to ask your advice about places to go in Bristol as my daughter wants me to take her there to look at the University and I've never been to the city before!

I'm a big fan of Joules. I have their duvet cover on my bed. Love the raincoat and it's the colour I would wear so I will have to pop into their Cardiff Store soon! www.thediaryofajewellerylover.co.uk

I realised the other day that it has been over eight years since I went to the shopping mall by myself! The coat is lovely. I don't know of anywhere round here that sells Joules clothing.

I love the look of that cafe/bar, the food looks yum! I know what you mean about missing the kids after a you/work day. After that event in London, I got an earlier train so I could whizz back in time to surprise them at pick-up time. P.S. You and Lori look so cute in those jackets! and yes our matchy outfits was hilarious - great minds xx
