This fortnight for 'Style in your City' we're going to try something a little different and it's all about spotting your city style or a city you've visited. We want to see what catches your eye and it could be anything: colourful buildings, street art, fashion your loving, art you've seen, or stunning interior design.
A few weeks ago I took a trip to London and has the pleasure of staying over the night before in The Artist Residence's new London branch.

The first thing I noticed is that the Artist Residence feels like a beautiful home rather than a hotel. Situated in Pimlico it's out of the way of the hustle and bustle and is located in a residential area making it quiet and secluded whilst still being so close to the night life of the big city. My friend Lori and Lottie met me at the hotel in the evening and we had a few drinks in the bar downstairs which we had all to ourselves.
I love the bohemian feel to the bar.

The interior design of the place is beautiful. I loved the touches to my room like the vintage suitcases and metal wardrobe. The mini Smeg fridge was very cute as well.
I had a view onto the residential properties behind the building and in the evening you could look in at the windows to the the people eating their dinner! It's a great spot for people watching with a cup of tea and daydreaming about living in a location like that.
After dinner in their restaurant I set up camp in the big cosy bed and caught up with some work (*ahem watched a few more episodes of Pretty Little Liars). I have to say it did feel a bit odd dinning alone and one of my favourite things about staying in hotels is room service (which the Artist Residence doesn't provide) but the food was delicious and would have made for a great place to eat and drink wine had I had a dining partner.
The evening was interrupted a number of times with the fire alarm going off, something I was told happens a lot with the open kitchen. Thankfully it didn't happen any later than 10pm so it didn't interrupt sleep which was very comfortable but was a bit disrupting. I'd imagine as they have only been open a few months this is something they still have to work out for a hotel set up in a residential building.
I wore a top and skirt from People Tree, as you probably know I am a big fan of the brand and I loved this outfit for casual cosiness. You can take 10% off anything in store with code TIGER10
I love checking out beautiful space like this and it always renews my passion for interior design. Plus they are a dream to photograph!
