Sorry for the two-ing and fro-ing over on the blog lately, we've been travelling a fair bit and I'm updating our adventures when I can grab a minute. Poor Wilf has had the 'chicken spots' and hasn't been able to go to nursery so I'm finding the list of things I need to catch up with growing rapidly!
We've been really lucky though as he's not suffered with it in the slightest, in fact apart from the 60 or so spots and a mild itchiness he's breezed through it. I think we've got off lightly with that one!
A couple of weeks ago we visited Brighton and stayed for two nights (you can see some snap shots here) the first of those nights was spent with The Artist Residence via I-Escape so here's what we thought of our stay.
We checked into medium double which had a double bed and a single camp bed style bed for Wilf. The decor was very fun and modern with murals designed by Matt Sewell, I really like the collage themed graphic design and the blues and pinks (as did Wilf).
I love the wooden crates and wire clothes hangings to store clothes and bags. I'm also a huge fan of the industrial style lighting!
The room did have a few signs of wear and tear that you'd find in an old victorian building (we have the same issues in our home) and the bathroom was very compact if a little dated.
After a great nights sleep (Wilf was very excited to be sleeping on his own little camp bed and kept calling that area 'his room') we woke up bright and early with our tummies rumbling. Which was lucky as The Artist Residence has an amazing little restaurant downstairs (like really their coffee was so good).
Tom went for the pancakes..
Myself the poached eggs..
And Wilf who totally won by asking for granola and ending up with this delicious granola yogurt compote. I don't think my regular granola will ever match up!
We really enjoyed our stay at the Artist Residence in Brighton. The perfect seaside stay for a family trip with beautiful design.

I saw this place on The Hotel Inspector - it was terrible and Alex Polizzi really helped the owner turn it around. Clearly he's kept up the good work!
Ah yes, I knew I recognised the name from somewhere Sarah - it was WEIRD on that show but looks amazing now!

I can give my vote for the Artist Residence in Penzance! We stayed there a few years back in a great room with a mezzanine floor. I was at the time preggers too and still managed a good night's sleep, which says something.. The breakfast was amazing - a perfect location for Cornwall too x
I've eaten there at a pop-up restaurant, and in fact the guys that did the pop-up have now opened a proper restaurant there, we really must go and visit again!
wow this looks like a really beautiful place to stay, i love the little thoughtful touches ... and the decor really is right up my street x
