A little skincare post - Perricone MD

Like many people tend to do I've started the new year with resolutions to take better care of my skin. There's nothing like have a newborn to realise how dramatically sleep deprivation and fatigue show on your face and I've found myself googling 'best products to hide dark circles' at 3am too many times than I would like to admit.

I think the truth is there really is no magical make up that will make you look like you've had a 8 hour stretch (or even a four hour stretch). What is most important is caring for your skin by eating well, drinking water, sleep (if you can get it) and the right skincare products. I do find that using the right creams and oils can definitely help and especially during these colder months when I'm prone to dry areas having a good skincare routine can make such a difference.

I was sent the range from Perricone MD to try out during January and I've been really impressed with them so far. The items from the range I trailed were:

Face Finishing Moisturiser

Cold Plasma Treatment

No Foundation Foundation Treatment

Firm Cream

I used the cream morning and evening and the foundation treatment in the morning only for two weeks straight, alternating between the cold plasma treatments and firming cream on occasion to see if I felt a noticeable difference through using just one or the other.

All the products are paraben free which was great and I loved that the moisturiser wasn't heavily perfumed. My absolute favourite product from the range was the face finishing moisturiser in fact as it felt like my skin was drinking it in and I noticed it felt plumper almost immediately. The texture is thick like that of a night cream but doesn't feel heavy and was brilliant for day usage. I also loved the No foundation foundation treatment despite initially thinking the colour would be too dark for me. I found it so effective that on more than one occasion I didn't end up adding make up to my morning routine as I felt it brightened up my skin tone enough to not need it.

The cold plasma treatment is designed to deliver 'optimum cellular nutrition' to lift, firm and brighten your appearance. It's very hard to say if a particular product from the range did a better job than the other or if all of them combined worked together to do their thing but I did love how cooling it felt and fresh it seemed to make my face feel. The one thing I would say is this treatment had quite a distinctive strong smell which took me aback at first but as soon as it was rubbed in I couldn't smell it again. The firming cream (which has yet to hit the store) also felt cool and vitalising and I do think made the areas under my eyes feel a little firmer. I actually felt like I'd had a mini facial each day which was such a treat during January and with a tiny baby around stealing sleep ;)

Overall I'm a big fan of this range, the products have really helped with dry winter skin and my skin looks noticeably fuller and brighter. I'm really looking forward to trying out some of their other treatments!
