One of the things I love so much about traveling and holidaying with my family is the excuse to get your camera out. Before digital cameras you'd send off for your holiday film to be developed and then eagerly show your friends and family the places and things you had seen. Now we can see different parts of world so easily just by looking through our Instagram feeds. If you're a long time reader of my blog you'll know that I need very little excuse to take pictures of my loved ones but somehow it feels all the more appropriate when you are away from home.
I feel like travel makes you take notice of the little things that bit more, different settings, and weather and architecture to snap a picture of. It takes you out of your every day where your living room is a mess and you need to think about the laundry and lets you spend quality time with the people that really matter.

We have been so lucky to have experienced traveling to a few different countries over the past few years. It's made us step out of our comfort zone, ride sleighs pulled by huskies or hire bikes around a foreign city. I feel so lucky that we have these pictures to remember these special moments forever.
Both travel and photography inspire my curiosity. We tend to research a place a little before we visit so we have a rough idea and then let our sense of adventure take us, noticing colourful walls, beautiful shells or icicles hanging from roof tops. Becoming a parent and traveling with little ones also helps me view the world through their eyes. When you bend down to snap shots of children you discover the world at a different level, notice details you might not have seen before.
We are always so thankful for our opportunities to travel and the last couple of years have ignited our love for it more and more. The thrill of exploring a new country with our little family is an adventure that's quite addictive! Although the baby is only two months old we are already getting itchy feet for where this year will take us and can't wait to show you along the way!
This post is our entry to the Mark Warner Holidays #markwarnermum competition under the photography section to be an ambassador for 2016. If you head over to twitter you can read lots of other brilliant entries too, I've loved reading about what other families get out of a trip away. You can see the T&C's here if you fancy giving it a go yourself.
