No Added Sugar - The kids taste test Heinz Hoops

Since Wilf has been able to eat Heinz Hoops have been a kitchen cupboard firm favourite. An addition to an 'easy' tea or for lunch with toast. They have been our go-to many times over so when we were asked to see what the kids thought of their new 'no added sugar hoops' I was keen to see if they would pass the test with my kids.

Mabli was pleased!

Like most parents sugar is something I try and keep out of the kids diets as much as possible. We're not adverse to a cake here or there or course but if something can be made with less sugar then we're more than on board. So often though this means that the product has replaced the sugar with artificial sweeteners which in my opinion is often worse. Heinz's new 'No Added Sugar Hoops' contains a natural sweetener which means there is no compromise on the taste and our kids couldn't tell a difference to the 'regular' version. They also contain no added preservatives, colours or flavours.

The summer holidays are so busy for everyone that quick and easy meals that I know my kids will eat are a god send. Its interesting to hear that Heinz are the first brand to bring a 'No Added Sugar' version to the canned pasta market. It's brilliant to that they contain vitamin D and count as one of your 5 a day too.

The kids verdict? Their plates were polished which I think speaks for itself really! My son didn't remark that they tasted any different to the ones he knows and loves (my daughter is too young yet to talk but gobbled them up!).

I think it's great that brands are making these changes for sugar conscious parents like myself. We'll definitely be switching over and adding them to our kitchen cupboard supply!

What do you think of the new No Added Sugar range? Would you give them a go? I'd love to know if your kids thought they tasted just as good.

In association with Heinz all words and thoughts are my own

My two love spaghetti hoops! Always good to have a low sugar version though. :)
