Parent Life Hacks

Since Tom took the decision to leave his job and for us all do this freelance thing as a family we've been slowly working out our roles within our new household dynamic. Both as parents who are sharing childcare 50/50 and also dividing our roles with our work. Tom has been picking up the things that I'm not always so keen on doing (hello spreadsheets!) he's also really good at the type of play that doesn't come naturally to me (the park for example).

Lenovo got in touch recently and asked us if we'd like to check out their Tab 4 series and to see how we use it together as a family. I don't mind saying that we aren't shy of using technology like this with our kids, both as a learning tool as well as entertainment. I can't tell the amount of times I've been grateful that Wilf's been able to watch a film on a flight or long train journey. I actually think that there are so many apps nowadays that are brilliant help when it comes to learning to read or problem solving puzzles.

Whilst the kids actually do have their own kids tablets I love the idea that this one has functionality for the whole family. The multi user aspect allows parents and children to make it their primary tablet device and it comes with all the Microsoft apps that he needs to help with that side of the business. Meaning he can check out our excel spreadsheets in the morning one handed whilst sipping his coffee!

The kids pack features in built content, safety tools and parental controls. It also comes with a blue light filter, shock resistant bumper and stickers (like the one we used on the back of ours).

I'm always planning a few trips and I love the idea of popping this in my bag and it being all we all need during the trip. Especially as the battery life lasts for 12 hours! As you can probably tell we were really impressed with this piece of kit.

The Lenovo Tab 4 Series can be bought on www.lenovo.co.uk John Lewis and Argos starting from £129.99

What a great family tablet that's easily shareable. My folks have one each but it would be nice to just have one for us all to use especially when going away on trips
