In the snow for ten minutes

I'm sure you are all super bored of snow pictures but whilst Bristol escaped any snow for the first three days that the rest of the UK seemed to have covered we FINALLY got some snow fall just before the weekend. It was a bit of an anticlimax because first Mabli and then Wilf got struck down with this terrible viral thing that has totally knocked them for 6. In fact Wilf is still really poorly and barely eating anything, I hate to see my babies like this!

Still on Saturday we managed ten minutes in our backgarden even if we were still our PJ's. Like most schools ours was closed for a couple of days which seemed even more unfair (who wants to be poorly when it's snowing and you have an extra long weekend?). We also had booked to stay with friends over the weekend and that had to be cancelled to of course so without moaning on and on the past few days have been tough.

Whats made it even harder is that Wilf has had three days of really heavy nose bleeds. Brought on by I'm not sure what, maybe the weather or being run down I'm not sure. I have to say they scare me so much. Tom and our GP assure me its normal and he will grow out of them but as I've never experienced a nosebleed myself I find it hard to relate. They come on so fast and take a really long time to heal so I'm always trying to remain calm whilst my brain is telling me we need a trip to A&E!

Anyway else have any experience of this?

In a more happier moment Tom picked up a few magazines for Wilf to read and I popped my head around the door to see him giggling at the Beano. Such a joyful sound after he has been so weak and quiet.

Our snowman would win no prizes but he was funny to make. Tom wrote up this wanted poster the next morning that made the kids laugh and Wilf wrote up his description Seeing him write 'poops sweets' made me smile much more than it would because it was a sign he was feeling more like hisself again. Please tell me your six year olds are still obsessed with everything poop?

So that's been the last few days! I am manifesting good health by the end of the week, pleeeease!

Did you guys get a lot of snow where you where?

We had one day of snow, school didn't shut, and by the weekend it had all gone again! I'm so jealous of your snow...even for ten minutes!

Oh gosh poor Wilf! I hope his nose bleeds have stopped now, must have been awful for him. I'm glad you got to have some fun in the snow, I have to admit I hid indoors!

We had a lot of snow in London and little man’s school was even closed for 2 days. He had fun playing in the snow!

It's such a shame that your little ones weren't feeling too well but to be honest it's so cold outside it wasn't too bad that they couldn't be outside all day in the snow x

It's such a shame the kids were unwell and that you had to cancel your plans. Honestly the nose bleed thing isn't that bad, I have suffered from a very young age and my daughter gets them too. Sometimes it happens from being too warm, too cold and too ill so it could be a combination of them all. I love the snowman poster! x

We’d never get bored of snow pics and love seeing everyone else’s snaps. Sorry to hear about the nose bleeds, my mummy has been getting headaches and thinks it’s something to do with going in and out from cold to warm. Absolutely love your pink jumper! Where did you get it from? Xxx

Oh gosh, I would have no idea what to do in the case of a nosebleed either and I'd full on panic like you. I've never had one but I remember loads of kids in my class at primary school used to deal with them frequently. Hope both kids are feeling back to themselves soon. x
