Kindness of Strangers

Ok so not actually a 'stanger' anymore as we have met in 'real life' but I was so touched last night when I returned home to find this waiting for me.

I've just realised that I had forgot to update you all re: operation. Basically the evening before I was due to go in they told me it had been rescheduled due them needing to use the appointment for a more serious operation. This is fine of course but unfortunately I will have to wait another four weeks or so for my next appointment (due to not being able to take certain days off work etc). Even though I wasn't looking forward to it, I had got myself quite prepared mentally so it is a bit of a disappointment none the less.
So Emily made me this lovely broach and card because of the above and now I'm not even having it for a few weeks! I will still cherish the sentiment in weeks to come though :)
I couldn't wait to put it on this morning, and we realised how much it actually looks like me,ha!
If you are noticing our bookshelves behind us this is something we have been aiming to have up for about 8 months now! I'm kicking myself that we didn't really document the stages of doing up our house but for a long time our living room was a portable TV and a huge concrete floor. Actually getting this giant bookshelf up and unpacking our bits and bobs is a very important milestone for us!
We are planning lots of globe collections (because we're hipsters like that ;)) eventually we will own enough books to arrange them in colour and it only delights me more and more to know we have such a huge space for porcelain cat/owl/fawn collections!(not like a hybrid cat-owl-fawn..that would be weird)

my beautiful kitty, way to make any outfit look cute :)
