Wilf and I tend to bake something together at least once a week, even if it's just something simple and not really blog worthy like fairy cakes or in this instance apple crumble. I often find it helps in that hour or two before daddy comes home and we've no energy to leave the house again. If we don't do something like this we both enjoy I get asked to play cars for the millionth time (and that is something I don't really enjoy tbh).
Recently Wilf has started asking to bake things and has gotten really interested in the ingredients 'how about flour now mummy?' and although a lot of it does end up all over the counter it really is a good way to kill half an hour or so. He's gotten a bit funny about eating certain veg (most veg) so I'm thinking I should really try and get him involved in preparing our lunches and dinners too. He also asks to 'craft' a fair bit (which basically involves just glueing things to other things) and he recently when overtired sobbed 'I just want to do my crafting!' which was probably up there with one of the most middle class tantrums you can have.
Wilf and I are both wearing Me&I clothing which we were kindly sent. Some pretty nifty scandinavian designs over there if you fancy a look

Ah cute! I get D to help me with the bread measuring quite a lot and yesterday he helped me make the batter for the toad in the hole. I love doing it with him - I really need to work out more recipes I can get him involved in!
That is the cutest and funniest middle-class tantrum ever!
Haha that's such a cute tantrum! :) I love Wilf's top x
Lovely post. Yes, we love baking for bakings sake too. It can take the fun out of it when always for blogging and you have to keep taking photos while doing. Definitely get him helping with lunches. Make pizza base and ask him to put on the toppings. Love his crafting tantrum. Sounds like my kids. They're often described as "twee" lol x
That is exactly the time of day when my little babe and I are in the kitchen also - for exactly the same reason! Waiting for Dad to come home to relieve us both! I have created a kitchen monster though, because now whenever I am at the counter, she pushes the chair over and wants to be up with me - which sometimes I don't have time for! I just made her a little apron this week, so she can wear something special when we're baking - gets her in a little routine.

i adore the second to last photo! baking is lovely, and i agree it's a good way to 'waste' a bit of time :)
The Isabella table lamp is lovely.
we love to bake! It's something I've done with all of mine since they were tiny, paid off as now Lola bakes things for me all by herself :D

I used to love baking with Ben, but it's pretty impossible with Daisy as well. Being outnumbered in the kitchen is a recipe for disaster! Love the clothes too, will have a look at the website.
Oh baking is the best with toddlers and your right - it gives them a focus for an hour or two and it's something you can do together. We love baking and trying out new recopies. Really love both your dress and Wilf's cute top :)

I must try and do this more with Bagl, he is keen to help and has a longer attention span these days, so it could work! Love the Me&I clothes, whilst I don't tend to dress Bagl in brown, as the child of a knitter, I feel he 'needs' those trousers with the sheep on the back.
I'm in hysterics at "I just want to do my crafting!" haha :p I would love to do baking with my 2 but we don't have an oven :( maybe i can try and make rice cooker cake or something....
haha yes Wilf could defo be described as twee! x
me too! Toad in the hole is a good shout :) x
haha yes Wilf's face is quite funny isn't it, he's such a performer! x
cannot wait for that stage! x
aww how cute! Wilf has a little apron too, you've reminded me to get it out, would save changing him twice a day! x
