Thankfully I tried it again one day last year and loved it and now it's my go-to drink when the weather starts getting warmer. Recently Tom and I have started to mix it up a little and instead of the usual G&T we've been trying a few new delicious gin based drinks.
Here is a drink we've been enjoying recently which is a little like a 'Singapore Sling' but adapted with the ingredients we had to hand.
You will need
Gin
Cherry Brandy
Soda water
Lime
Ice
You could also freshen it up a little with a fresh strawberry or cherry on the side. It's quite a sweet drink so not one you drink a bunch of but a real treat on a summer afternoon. Enjoy!
You can find more gin gifts at Alexander and James.

By adding small touches like colourful straws and napkins it can really tie in a theme especially when the rest of the items are mix-match and colourful also.

Youth Hostels are great places to stay with kids! I worked in backpackers for a few years and love the atmosphere and they usually have great places to eat at reasonable prices and your food looks super yummy :) Going to keep this place in mind for next time

Wow! Thank you so much!
The YHA does not really focus on the mass backpacker market anymore as they do not generate the most money for them and they are generally more expensive than the independent hostels which backpackers use. The majority of visitors are families and middle-aged groups/couples looking for a cheaper option than a hotel many opting for catered breakfast and evening meals and the YHA caters for this market well. Nearly all hostels are licensed which means you can't buy a nice bottle of wine/beer of your choice and drink it with your self-catered meal.
