When Christmas came early

Christmas came a little early in this household when we were asked by Tesco to review their new toy brand Carousel. They kindly sent Wilf and Mabli a couple of pieces from the range for their appreciate ages to see how they got on with them.

We were sent the Red Rock Star Guitar, Play and Learn cube, Drive and Talk Fire Engine, Police Break Out set, Drive and Talk Ambulance and my favourite the Carousel Music and Learning Table

Wilf's favourite by far was the police break out set, and we had a really nice time putting it together and adding the stickers. I feel like one of the best parts of Christmas morning is setting up the gifts you received (and for a parent it means the kids are occupied for even longer right?).

This was such a lovely item as its one Wilf could use with the cars he already had as well as the ones that came with the set. I think its a great item for imaginative play too as he was inviting all sorts of place chases and emergencies. The only issue we had was his little sister wanting to play and pulling out the tracks and put her giant ambulance toy on it, but thats siblings right?

Like I said above my favourite item from the collection was this wooden music station. I love wooden toys and think they are so timeless as well as being lovely and tactile. The bright colours and illustrations were really engaging for my almost two year old and she partially liked the shape sorter.

Wilf also loved the 'Rock Star' guitar and was jumping around like a Little Rock star himself much to Mabli's amusement. One of the items Mabli was given was the 'Play and Talk' cube which also has a music element so they were able to rock out together which was so funny.

Wilf got the most use out of the 'Drive and Talk' ambulance when he realised you could speak into the control and it would come out of the machine (even from upstairs!) which Mabli couldn't quite grasp at her age but loves pushing along.

What I loved about all these items from Carousel at Tesco is that they are all so interactive and encourage imaginative play. Also that despite a few squabbles here and there both my kids were able to play with them together. At almost two and 'almost' 6 (both their birthdays fall a few days before Christmas, bad planning on my part ha!) they are finally starting to be able to play together which is such a joy to see.

Price point wise all these items come in really reasonably I think with the most expensive being £35 (for the Police station and wooden Play and Learn table). Definitely a range to consider for your little ones this Christmas I think!

As always thank you to the brands who support this blog. This post is Sponsored by Carousel at Tesco but all words, thoughts and images are my own.
