A Weekend in Southampton with Jurys Inn (AD)

We are so excited to be working with Jurys Inn again on this post. You might remember a few weeks back we worked with them on a trip to Liverpool (if not you can see it here). This time we were invited on a trip to their Southampton hotel and we tied it in with a trip to Paultons Park and Peppa Pig World. I'd wanted to take Wilf when he was a few years younger and didn't quite get round to it so now Mabli is fully in the midst of her Peppa love it seemed like the perfect time. I wasn't sure how much Wilf would get out of it but it turns out he loved it equally, if not more. More on that later.

The Southampton Jurys Inn much like their other branches is really centrally located. We got the train from Bristol which was a little under two hours direct and then a five-minute taxi ride (or a 15-minute walk if you're not traveling with two kids and a suitcase packed for every eventuality because thats the way it is when you travel as a family right?

After a quick check-in from a friendly receptionist and a sweet activity pack for both, we decided to stretch our legs. There is an amazing park just stones through from the hotel (as you can see from the pic below). After this, we decided to grab dinner at the bar and have an early night. I didn't actually realize that all Jurys Inn have a different menu in their hotels. After eating the most amazing battered halloumi at the Liverpool branch I was initially sad to find it wasn't available BUT there were so many different veggie options and when I settled on the aubergine stack with sweet potato fries I wasn't disappointed.  I also love that they have lots of veggie options on the children's menu which isn't always the norm and I really think should be.

After a great nights sleep (all Jurys Inn use DREAM beds which are so so comfy) we headed down to breakfast and filled ourselves with a hot breakfast (or in the kid's case cereal with a side of hashbrowns as that's their thing apparently haha) and headed to the park. If like us you traveled by train there is a specific bus that goes directly to the entrance of the park which you can jump on at the other end of the park I mentioned above.

We didn't realise how much more to Paultons Park there was then Peppa Pig World, you can definitely spend an entire day there and more. I've had a few questions on Instagram if there is enough for older children (Wilf is 7) and there definitely is. In fact Wilf is no thrill seeker so really didn't want to try some of the rides more his age or older (he was more than happy on the Peppa Rides and toddler trains haha). I can't wait to go back when he is a little more adventurous and tries the Lost World (dinosaur area) and some of the rollercoasters.

Something else I was really surprised by is how many beautiful gardens and areas there were, it felt like a real calm amongst some of the busier areas.  There was also a brilliant splash pad and adventure playground.

After Paultons Park we headed back into Southampton for a bit of a wander. We were recommended by a lovely follower to check out the sensory gardens at the shopping center area which was so lovely. The kids stopped to blow bubbles and Tom and I had a G&T in the sun.

After this, we headed back to our room for another night at Jurys Inn. After such a full day we couldn't wait for bedtime and were all asleep by 8.30! It's so nice to spend a day out knowing you are returning to somewhere you can all get a great nights sleep and is so family-friendly. We didn't order room service this time like last time but its great to know its an option if you have tired kiddos!

We checked out after another great breakfast and a Costa Coffee for the road. One last play in the park and then on our way!

Thanks so much to Jurys Inn for partnering with us and for a great couple of days away!

What a lovely place to visit. I’ve not been down there myself but it looks like there is plenty for everyone.

As always your pictures are so beautiful ๐Ÿ˜
