Oh my lovelies, have you ever stumbled upon a craft that just fills your heart with the warm fuzzies? Well, that’s me with pom pom crafts these days. And let me tell you, there’s nothing quite as squishable and cuddle-worthy as Easter Bunny DIY pom pom craft — I mean, it’s like a cuddly creature craze over here!
We all remember those little yarn balls from grannies’ knitting baskets, right? They’ve had a glow-up and are now strutting their stuff everywhere from nursery decor to keychains. But these bunnies, oh, they’re on another level of adorable.

Pom Pom Craft
It all started on a lazy Sunday afternoon. The kids were getting that wild look in their eyes that screamed ‘Save me from boredom!’ So, I pulled out a stash of yarn, and we got down to bunny business. The magic of making these puffy bunnies starts with a simple wrap of yarn around a fork, a piece of cardboard, or those nifty little pom pom makers if you’re feeling fancy.

Now, picture this: you loop and loop until you’ve got a glorious tangle, tie it up in the middle and then—snip, snip—transform it into a fluffy pom pom ball that even clouds would envy. The kiddos’ wide-eyed wonder when they made their first pom pom was a sight to behold!
But it’s not a bunny yet, right? Ah, but with a bit of crafty love, it soon will be. We grabbed some felt for ears, teeny-tiny pom poms for the nose, and used a little embroidery thread for the whiskers and eyes. Snuggle those features into the pom pom fluff, and well, it’s like magic! Out pops a little bunny that could melt even the snowman’s heart in Frozen.
Creating this pom pom craft became more than just an afternoon filler. It turned into a giggle-fest, a creator’s delight, and even surprisingly, a way to chill out. Plus, watching my little ones cradle their yarn-made bunnies with the tenderest care? Heart. Officially. Burst. It’s the perfect sprinkle of joyful crafting and memory-making, topped with a dusting of imagination and play. So go ahead, sweet friends, and hop into the wonderful world of pom pom bunnies. Your heart (and your kiddos) will thank you! 🐰💕

You will need
yarn
scissors
thick paper
printer
paints & brushes/pens/pencils
a pin
craft glue
cotton thread

How to make a pom pom bunny
Step 1 Make a pompom (with a pompom maker)…
1// open out the first half moon sections & wrap the yarn around repeatedly until full as shown in image no.2
2// fold half moon section closed and repeat on the second side
3// cut the yarn through the centre using the valley in the half moon sections as a guide
4// tie a length of yarn around the centre (you should feel it pop when it’s pulled tight into place at the bottom. make sure to tie it nice & tight in a double knot at the top)
5// open out your two half moons and pull apart the pompom maker from the centre
6// shake out your pompom & trim any straggly ends
Step 2 Add the rabbit sections (using printable above)…
1 print the rabbits onto a thick piece of card or paper (as thick as your printer will take ~ I use watercolour paper sheets), then paint, colour & customise to your hearts content
2 cut out each rabbity piece
3 make a pin hole in the top rabbit piece (this is for you hanging cotton, which you can thread now or later)
4 find the centre of your pompom and flatten down to open up
5 add glue to the bottom of your top rabbity piece on both sides
6 wiggle her into the centre of your pompom and give her squeeze so the yarn sticks to the glue front & back. repeat steps 4~6 for the legs
If you haven’t already, thread cotton through the pin hole you made, and voila!

Hang your bunnies in twiggy trees or anywhere else you want to add a little playful easter style (my little Bear seems to have acquired most of these so far!)
