First off how am I in a book? But I am, get to the end of this post and you’ll find out how I’m part of Amazing Dyslexics. In other news Wilf is almost my height already?! Don’t get me started on how both my kids have grown up so much over the past few months but equally, I’m glad I’ve got to spend all this time with them and be present as they grew. We’ve had a pretty good few weeks off late, I feel a lot better since my miscarriage and feeling a lot more clarity about the whole situation. With more things opening (safely of course) I’m feeling a lot more positive about getting out and about in our beautiful city of Bristol and I can not wait until we can set foot in an art gallery or museum again!
It’s the last week of home learning before we break for the summer and it will be nice to have a bit of a break. That being said I think we really got into our grove with the learning from home thing. Wilf in particular has flourished so much. I recently found a bundle of Horrible History cards and magazines on Ebay and you can’t get that boy’s head out of them. I’m pretty sure he knows more than me now and I’m the proud owner of an A at GCSE.
Some more photos of life lately including first ‘night out’ with friends socially distanced on Bristol harbour, banana blossom fake fish and chips,

I also ended up breaking my toe which was a pretty silly thing to do (way to get myself isolated just when we are getting a bit of freedom!). We had just watched the Eurovision movie the day before so I put the soundtrack on for the kids, ended up doing a leap into the room when ‘JaJa Ding Dong’ was playing and bending my toe backwards on the step ah! Two and bit weeks on and it’s loads better but I’d adding it to my top three most painful things thats ever happened to me.

I picked up this 3mm reusable film camera from ebay here. I felt like it had been forever since I used a film camera and felt some nostalgia for the type of photos I used to take as a teen. I’m really looking forward to developing it! I also picked up a few new items of clothes in the sales. I hadn’t been buying anything new for a while as I guess I thought I’d be in maternity clothes before long and then when that didn’t work out I also felt like being a bigger size meant I shouldn’t buy anything new but life’s way to short for that! You can find this dress here.

What else is new? I recently got featured in the book ‘The bigger picture book of Amazing Dyslexics’ and even made the cover along with Jamie Oliver and Eddie Izzard (two of my faves!). I feel like Amazing Dyslexics its such an inspiring book and one I would have taken such positivity from if there had been something like it when I was growing up! For so long I was told although I could read at a high level if I couldn’t work out how to spell then writing wasn’t for me.. thankful for the internet letting me break those rules 😉 You can pick up the book on pre-order here. Pretty cool to be part of the ‘Amazing Dyslexics’ gang!

We also started work on our loft conversion which I’ll write up in a separate post when it’s all done but if you want to follow along you can check it out daily on my home account which just reached 10k! I know it’s not about the numbers but it means I finally got a swipe up which really does help when people ask where things are from etc. We did actually have a semi converted loft when we moved in but without stairs and just with adding a floor and windows. We are now making these into two rooms and a bathroom. Wilf will move into one and the other will be an office.

I think that’s all for now, I’ll leave with another food pic because my life has been greatly improved by being able to eat street food again and omg vegan tacos!
