Yoto Player Mini – The greatest travel companion for kids

The Yoto Player Mini is our new must-have travel item. If you’ve not come across the Yoto player it is a screen-free audio player that comes in two different designs. For this post, I’m going to be focussing on the Yoto Player Mini which is a lightweight portable device.

Mini Yoto – Screen-free traveling

One of my children suffers from travel sickness so any type of reading or screen usage when moving is a big no-no. Thankfully the player uses physical yoto cards and specific audio content to play content. I love that the kids can choose the cards in their carry case to listen to music, podcasts, or well-known well-loved stories.

Yoto Mini Player Cards

We have been so impressed with the amount of content available for the Yoto Player. In fact, one of the things I think sets them apart from other audio players of this kind is the quality of the audio cards. The Yoto Player seems to have a much wider library and also content for older children. You can also filter age ranges on their site.

There is also the option to create your own cards by purchasing blank cards. With this option, you can record your own audio or download audio from your computer onto them. As well as this you can lend and borrow cards from friends. To do this you can use the card in the player or tap onto your phone with the Yoto app. When you do this it disappears from your friend’s library until they insert or download the card again.

The Yoto Player and Mini Yoto player use the same cards.

How is the Yoto Player Mini different from the Yoto Player

Having used both players I would say the main difference is size. The Yoto Player Mini is very small and portable and easy to pop into a coat pocket or backpack. The Yoto Player is a sturdier piece for your child’s bedroom and also has an inbuilt night light.

Yoto Community

As a home educator, I’m really excited about using the Yoto Player as part of our learning resources. There are a few Facebook groups for people with Yoto Players where people share cards they are loving or how they are using the content.

Yoto also has a Facebook group where they share ideas and inspiration.

If you are looking to make a purchase I have been given a yoto player discount code of CC-FRITHA10 to share for 10% off the Yoto Player Mini. The mini is never included in any of their discount sales so this is an exclusive code.
