Oh, let me tell you about a little gem of a getaway – The South Place Hotel London. Nestled in the vibrant heart of London, it’s like stumbling upon an urban oasis. From the moment we stepped in, it felt like a hug – stylish yet so welcoming, with that chic London edge we all dream of. It’s the perfect mix of luxury and comfort, making it a fabulous spot for city escapades! P.S Cocktails at The South Place Hotel may just be the best cocktails I’ve ever had..
The South Place Hotel in London
Over the weekend I was lucky enough to stay at The South Place Hotel in London. I have so many wonderful things to say about this hotel when I was trying to think of any negatives it was that I didn’t get a chance to stay there long enough, seriously!
Being a big fan of design I was always going to be a little bit wowed by the aesthetics of the place. The interiors have been designed by Conran and host modern art exhibitions on every floor many of which have been commissioned for the hotel especially. The South Place Hotel is the first hotel from restauranteurs D&D London and has two restaurants, three bars, and five private dining areas. The top-floor restaurant is an acclaimed Michelin-star restaurant and is often booked up for weeks in advance. I was able to grab a cocktail from one of the three bars before I headed out and could quite easily have spent some time there if I wasn’t on such a tight schedule (an excuse to return surely?).
For me, extras like the Bang and Olufsen televisions added that extra chic, so much thought had gone into the design of every room that a regular TV just wouldn’t quite be right y’know? I also appreciated the non-alcoholic mojito served at check-in and the brownie left for me on arrival, so much better than a dry biscuit to go with my cup of tea! Top all that off with the softest of Josephine Home bed sheets and yes I did feel quite indulgent.
The above two pictures were from the guest/members-only cocktail bar, most rooms had these spy phones to call for service. The whole hotel had a spy theme which ran out throughout, the meeting rooms for example were named after famous spies and each room’s interiors gave a nod to the spy theme. I don’t think my photo of this bar did it justice as it was beautiful and not the kind of outdoor space you would expect to find in a central London hotel. I’m already imagining coming back for a weekend away with Tom.

After one of the best nights’ sleep I’ve had in a while (due to the automatic black-out blinds and lack of toddler), my alarm woke me at 6.30 and I had a good scrub in the power shower with the Heeley bath products before getting my yummy room service breakfast (why not ey?). That smoothie was just the thing I needed for five hours of sleep.
I’ve already got the South Place Hotel in mind for a ‘one day’ couples night away with Tom as I need to return to visit that restaurant and hang out in that bar again.
