A Magical Trip to Warwick Castle – Experiencing Knight Village Glamping and all the fun of knight school

Oh my stars, let’s settle in with a nice cuppa because I’ve got quite the tale for you! So, there we were, looking for a little something different for our family getaway when we stumbled upon the Knight’s Village Glamping at Warwick Castle. And guess what? It was every bit as enchanting as it sounds!

Now, you might be thinking, “Glamping at Warwick Castle? How?” But let me tell you, it was the perfect blend of adventure and comfort. Imagine stepping back in time, winding down under the stars, surrounded by the whispers of ancient tales – that’s Warwick Castle Knight’s Village for you.

Warwick Castle history is so fascinating, this place has stood tall for literally over a thousand years. It’s like time-traveling back to the medieval days of knights, tournaments, and grand feasts. Soaring towers, deep dungeons, and stunning gardens – you feel the stories woven into every stone. Truly a living piece of England’s rich tapestry!

Warwick Castle

Last month we visited Warwick Castle and paid to stay over and glamp. I honestly didn’t think it would be as good as it was but we all got a lot out of it (Wilf especially). If you go I would really recommend staying over as all the things you have to pay extra for in the day (like knight school or archery) are free in the evening for everyone staying over. As a special treat, we decided to go all out and book the king’s tent and it was so comfy with a four-poster bed. Pretty much the only way I’d camp now haha

I also had no idea how cute a little town Warwick was, really made me want to explore more the UK and the cute little towns all over the country we’ve not been to. If you are looking for Warwick Castle accommodation then I’ve got you covered, so read on!

Knight Village Glamping

Warick Castle Glamping was an experience like no other! The kids were bouncing about, eyes wide with wonder, taking in all the medieval splendor. And, honestly, so was I! We checked into our very own glamping tent, or should I say a stately canvas chamber fit for modern royalty. Those oh-so-glorious beds, layered with plush bedding, were a sight for sore eyes (and backs). I mean, a solid night’s sleep in the great outdoors? Yes, please!

Each tent had its own medieval charm, complete with wooden floors and thrones… I mean, chairs! The added bonus of power sockets (because let’s face it, not even a knight could go without charging their steed, or in our case, the kids’ devices).

Early Opening at Warwick Castle

And let’s not forget the VIP access to Warwick Castle. Wandering through the castle without the daytime crowds was like peeking behind the velvet curtain of history. Magical doesn’t quite cut it. We explored Warwick castle dungeons, towers, and the grand Great Hall, almost expecting to bump into a jester or a lady-in-waiting. The kids – little historians in the making – were utterly transfixed by the giant trebuchet and the jaw-dropping Birds of Prey display.

Back at the village, the hospitality was second to none. The staff were brilliant, decked out in medieval attire and playing the part to a T. They were our guides in this step back to a different era, making sure we had everything we needed for our knightly stay.

If you visit the castle in the day you will see the Warwick Castle events like the Battle of the Roses (which is incredible btw) and also have the chance to pay for activities such as archery. However, if you pay to stay over then archery and knight school is offered in a price so well worth it.

Where to eat in Warwick

Although Warwick Castle has banquet-style dining we knew we would be eating our breakfast there so instead Tom popped out of the castle grounds to the chip shop opposite for our dinner. It was actually so nice (top battered halloumi!) and it felt so nice to eat it on the camping chairs outside our tent on a summer evening.

A Magical Glamping Experience

This getaway was more than just a break from the daily grind; it was a reawakening of our family’s spirit of adventure. There were moments of pure silliness, belly laughs echoing into the night, and the kind of joy that comes from just being together in a place that’s soaked in history and fantasy.
