Due to our line of work, I almost always have an abundance of cardboard boxes. This led me to search ‘Easy Cardboard Crafts’ one stormy day, when I had just about enough of Rainbow Ruby on Netflix thank you very much.
I swear I used to do so much more crafting with the kids but now they are at school and preschool it is not my obvious choice for activities when they get home (plus they are tired too). It’s a reminder though to carve out the time on weekends or non-nursery days. Especially when the weather is bad.
Craft Ideas for kids
Isn’t it funny how something as simple as a cardboard box stirs up a whole world of imagination in our little ones? Oh, the joy in their eyes! Remember our last cardboard creation? The castle with turrets reaching for the sky – it looked somewhat…homemade, but boy, did we have giggles.
And, let’s not forget the cardboard robot. Our kitchen was transformed into a junkyard paradise, wasn’t it? Bits of tape stuck everywhere, giggles bouncing off the walls.

Easy Crafts for a rainy day
I came across so many cute easy cardboard crafts I wanted to share them here too. I always think I’m fairly creative but honestly, I just get a mental block sometimes and then a quick browse of Pinterest makes me want to create ALL the things. So here are a few of the things with their links too in case you are after craft ideas for kids.

How amazing are these animal illustrations with added cardboard elements for their noses and mouths? They are from the Instagram of Anna Walker and I love them. Especially the slightly worried looking bear.

Crafting Ideas
Ok this one requires quite a lot of cardboard but if you have an excess of the stuff then this would be a great one! Plus how cute is a little kiddo in a homemade cardboard dinosaur costume right? Or an animal like this elephant?
I hope you enjoyed these cardboard craft ideas!
They’re a bunch of lovely crafty books that would be perfect for ideas like this too!
I am not a toilet roll (anyone else saves these up and then ends up with a box of toilet roll that no one has crafted with? Here’s the answer!)
Quick Crafts (for parents who think they hate craft) – honestly I feel like Tom should read this.
