Having previously never considered Canary Wharf as a family friendly destination, our visit over the weekend has definitely changed our minds! We were invited to stay at Cove Landmark Pinnacle and used this location as our base for all the activities we did whilst in London.

Cove have locations all over the UK (and parts of Europe) but it was their Landmark Pinnacle building that we stayed at this time. Their serviced apartments are boutique in style but also very welcoming and family friendly. Whilst their interiors are very aesthetically pleasing they are also designed to feel like home.
On our first day in the area we went to Brera cafe. There are actually a few of these cafes in the area but we chose the one closest to us. We all got a cake and then practically had to be rolled out of there. Worth it though! We also found a brilliant play park where I was able to drink a coffee in the sun whilst the kids mastered their fear of the spider web slide.

Whats great about serviced apartments like Cove (especially with children) is the ability to cook for yourself. There are many supermarkets in the area and we managed to pick up enough groceries to make sure we have a packed lunch eat day too. I find this helps so much with kids and also obviously saves a bunch of money too. So we were able to go for treats like cake and coffee without breaking the bank as we were preparing all our other meals ourselves.
We were only staying two nights but many of the apartments also include facilities like washing machines. When staying places for longer amounts of time we find amenities like this so helpful in packing for a family break.
Crazy Golf in Canary Wharf – Cove Landmark Pinnacle

One of our favourite things to do in the area was to check out the free mini golf designed by artists Craig Redman and Karl Maier. The kids had a blast and as it was such a sunny day it had a real festival feel about it. With people sitting on picnic benches around the side enjoying their afternoons. Would definitely recommend an afternoon here if you are in the area.

During part of our time in London we also used Cove at the Landmark Pinnacle as a base to travel out of Canary Wharf. We jumped on a Uber boat which and visited the Barbican’s ‘Our Time on Earth’ exhibition. We found this exhibition so moving and really worth a visit. I’ll write about it separately as I feel like it deserves a post of its own.
We also visited the Crossrail Place Roof Garden and spent the morning at the Docklands museum which are both based in Canary Wharf.
I wouldn’t hesitate to use Cove serviced apartments for future trips and would certainly recommend the Cove Landmark Pinnacle. We felt that the apartment and area were perfect for a family trip and were pleasantly surprised about how much there is for children in the area.
