Isn’t there just something magical about the first real day of spring? The kind of day where you step outside, and for the first time in months, the air doesn’t feel like an icy slap in the face. When you realise, wait a minute, you don’t need to wrap yourself up in four different layers just to pop to the shops. When the sun peeks through the clouds, you can feel its warmth on your skin. Bliss.
Spring has always felt like a fresh start to me. The world slowly wakes up from its winter slumber, and little signs of life appear everywhere: daffodils swaying in the breeze, birds singing their early morning songs, and that distinct, crisp-but-hopeful scent in the air. But perhaps my absolute favourite part? The clothes!
Lighter Layers
Gone are the bulky coats, the endless layering, and the constant battle of keeping hats and scarves in place. Instead, we get to embrace ease. There’s nothing quite like the feeling of stepping into trainers rather than wrestling with winter boots, throwing on a light jacket instead of a giant puffer, and leaving the house without feeling like you’re carrying half your wardrobe on your back. It’s freedom.

That Effortless Spring Wardrobe
The shift in seasons always makes me rethink how I get dressed in the morning. In winter, it’s all about practicality. Layers upon layers, thick socks, waterproof everything. But in spring? It’s effortless coats and jackets. A lightweight dress with a denim jacket. Jeans and a simple tee with trainers. A jumper that actually looks nice rather than just being the warmest one you own.
And the shoes. Oh, how I’ve missed my trainers. The joy of slipping them on and heading straight out the door rather than faffing about with zips and laces and extra-thick socks. I love these Veja trainers as they are made from vegan leather and are SO comfy. There’s just something about it that makes everything feel easier. Lighter. Happier.

The Little Things That Make Spring Special
It’s not just the clothes, though. It’s the whole vibe of spring. The way people start smiling more, the streets feel busier in the best kind of way, and suddenly, every café with outdoor seating is full of people soaking up the sun.
I love those slow weekend mornings where you can sit outside with a coffee, the sun warming your face, and not feel like you have to rush back inside before you freeze. Or the first park picnic of the year, when you optimistically spread out a blanket, even though the grass is still a little damp, just because you can.
And the evenings, the light. That glorious golden-hour glow that lingers just a little longer each day, making everything feel softer and more beautiful. It’s the kind of light that makes you want to take a deep breath and just be.

A Time for New Beginnings
Spring always makes me want to do something new. Whether it’s rearranging the house, planning little adventures, or just getting outside more, it’s a season that invites change in the best possible way. There’s an energy in the air that makes everything feel a little more possible, a little more exciting.
So here’s to the season of light – in every sense of the word. Lighter clothes, lighter moods, lighter days. May we soak up every moment of sunshine, embrace every opportunity to be outdoors, and take full advantage of the simple joy of just throwing on a jacket and trainers and stepping outside.
Spring, we are so ready for you.
Are you feeling the springtime joy yet?
