Baby-Friendly Holidays in the UK

Let’s talk about baby friendly holidays. Do I hear the call of wanderlust mixed with the gurgles of your little bundle of joy? I remember those days, the itch of wanting a change of scene coupled with the nervous newbie-parent flutterings (Will the baby like it? Will I EVER pack everything we might need?). But let me tell you this: you CAN have holidays with your baby and not just survive them, but genuinely enjoy them. Trust me, I’ve been there. There are so many child friendly holidays in the UK to be found!

Baby Friendly Holidays

Now, you might be worried about forgetting a million things, but remember, unless you’re headin’ off to the moon, you can likely purchase any forgotten stuff. So first, take a deep breath. The world is still very much open to you, it just needs a bit more planning and slightly fewer spontaneous decisions.

So, let’s chat about the big question: where to go? You see, there are plenty of baby-friendly holiday spots. Fabulous places that make traveling with a tiny tot feel more like a well-deserved break than a ‘Survival of the Fittest’ episode.

Baby-friendly holidays – self-catering for the win

Choosing self-catering accommodation can be an absolute godsend. We’ve stayed in cute cottages with fabulous kitchens, meaning no fretting over whether your little one will kick off at the restaurant while you’re trying to enjoy a lovely warm meal for once. Plus, it saves heaps of money on dining out if budget’s a concern!

Luxury Family Hotels

On our Cornish holiday, we found the Watergate Bay, an incredible luxury family-friendly hotel. Cornwall also boasts some beautiful family-friendly beaches. Yes, sand does get EVERYWHERE, but those baby giggles as teeny toes touch the sea for the first time? Worth every grain of sand you’ll find in your clothes … or your cup of tea! You can read about our stay there here we also love Woolly Grange for luxury family holidays.

Some of our favorite family spots

Watergate Bay Cornwall
Camping and Caravan Club
Haven Holidays
Bluestone Vs Center Parcs
Ladram Bay Devon
A Weekend at Jurys Inn
Forest Holidays
Landal Dylan Coastal

Glamping for families

Caravan and camping sites have come a long way from the ‘pitch-a-tent and fend for yourself’ vibe. Many offer laundry facilities, play areas, and even heated pools. But wherever you go, even glamping, be prepared. Take warmer clothes than you think necessary because those little ones lose heat faster, and we don’t want any tiny blue toes! We loved staying at Penhein Glamping!

City breaks with kids

Now, city breaks! They can work beautifully, particularly in baby-friendly cities like Copenhagen and Amsterdam, with their spectacular laid-back vibes, picturesque parks, and museums. Most places are pram accessible, and the locals love kids (you might even get adoring ooos and awws from strangers!).

Family-friendly holiday resorts

Taking the leap to go abroad? Flight-time is a game changer. Short-haul is great for the first trip. Spain, Portugal or Greece offer sunshine, beautiful beaches, and family-oriented culture, plus restaurants that welcome kids with wide smiles. Our favourite resort we’ve been to with the kids has been this one with Jet 2 and this one. Both are in Tenerife which is perfect for little kids in my opinion.

Baby Friendly holidays

There you have it, love! My top baby-friendly holiday spots. Remember, holidays with the bub are more about a change of pace than pace-changing. It isn’t about ticking off the most tourist spots, but about creating memories, breathing different air and seeing new sights. It might seem daunting now, but once you’re there, with your precious little one experiencing discoveries, it will all feel brilliantly worth it!

Don’t ever think a baby means you can’t explore, because my dear, it simply means your greatest adventure has just begun! Sweeter travels lie ahead. Now, go create those cherished memories!

  1. I have just discovered your blog and adore the swing and the face. My boys are a little older at 7 and nearly 6, but oh I still would love to be left in a cafe with a book and a hot cup of tea.
