A Luxurious Mother-Daughter Weekend at the Sheraton Grand London

There is something truly special about spending quality one-on-one time with your kids, and what better way to do so than indulging in a luxurious weekend at the Sheraton Grand London? Nestled in the heart of Mayfair, this elegant Park Lane hotel offers the perfect blend of timeless sophistication and modern comfort. It was an ideal retreat for Mabli and me to have a mother-daughter getaway. From pampering in our hotel room to the best afternoon tea, and a delicious Italian meal in the Mercante restaurant, our stay at the Sheraton Grand Park Lane London was nothing short of spectacular.

Arrival & First Impressions

From the moment we arrived at The Sheraton Grand, we were greeted with the warm hospitality synonymous with Marriott Hotels. The hotel’s grand Art Deco facade exuded timeless elegance, and stepping into the lobby was like walking into a bygone era of luxury. I was greeted with a glass of champagne whilst Mabli was gifted a plushie of the hotel’s mascot ‘Henry’.

Check-in was seamless, with the friendly staff ensuring that we had everything we needed. My daughter also received a children’s passport which detailed each of the spaces in the hotel where she could get a stamp from the staff during our stay.

Our room was spacious and beautifully decorated, blending modern amenities with classic touches. A huge bed that was SO comfortable and a bathroom full of luxurious products.

Exploring Mayfair & Park Lane

One of the best aspects of staying at the Sheraton Grand Park Lane London is its prime location. Situated in Mayfair, the hotel provides easy access to some of London’s most iconic attractions. After settling in, we decided to take a stroll through St James Park and made our way to Buckingham Palace. The king wasn’t at home but we gave him a wave all the same and watched the guards do their thing.

Afternoon Tea at the Sheraton Grand

No mother-daughter weekend would be complete without indulging in afternoon tea in London, and the Sheraton Grand Park Lane London did not disappoint. The hotel’s Palm Court is renowned for serving one of the best afternoon teas in London, and we were eager to experience it for ourselves.

The moment we entered Palm Court, we were transported into a world of 1920’s elegance. The beautifully set tables, live pianist, and impeccable service created the perfect atmosphere for a traditional afternoon tea experience. We were treated to a selection of vegetarian finger sandwiches, warm scones with clotted cream and jam, and an array of delicate pastries and cakes. The tea selection was equally impressive, offering a range of blends to suit every palate. It was such a lovely experience that made us feel so fancy.

Dinner & Cocktails at the Sheraton Grand

For dinner, we opted to dine at Mercante, the hotel’s elegant Italian restaurant. The menu featured a delightful array of fresh, seasonal dishes inspired by traditional Italian cuisine. We started with a delicious arancini and olive selection, followed by a beautiful homemade pasta. Mabli opted for fries because she is nine after all!

We ended our evening by chilling in bed and watching our favorite shows together. If you were on a child-free trip though I’d recommend heading to the Smith & Whistle, the hotel’s stylish cocktail bar. The expertly crafted cocktails and chic atmosphere made it the perfect place to unwind and reminisce about our wonderful day in London. Dogs are also welcome!

A Relaxing Morning at the Sheraton Grand

After a restful night’s sleep in our luxurious bed, we started our morning with a leisurely breakfast at the hotel’s dining area. The buffet offered a fantastic selection of fresh fruits, pastries, and classic breakfast favorites. We were also offered a menu of items from the kitchen and I enjoyed an egg florentine whilst Mabli enjoyed the omelet station.

Our mother-daughter weekend at the Sheraton Grand Park Lane London was nothing short of magical. The combination of timeless luxury, impeccable service, and a prime location in Mayfair made it the ideal destination for a special getaway.
