Hoburne Cotswold Review
We recently spent a long weekend at this charming holiday park and loved every moment of it. Whether you are looking at comparing holiday parks in the UK and thinking of booking your first trip, or simply curious about what this hidden gem has to offer, let me take you on a tour of our experience.
Hoburne Cotswold is one of the most family-friendly holiday parks in the Cotswolds, set among 150+ lakes.

Hoburne Cotswold Water Park – First Impressions: Check-In and Setting
As a car-free family, if you want to travel mostly by public transport, then you can easily get the train to Kemble, and from there we booked a ten-minute taxi to the holiday park. Arriving at the Hoburne Cotswolds location it instantly gave us the sense that we were in for a peaceful, relaxing escape. The setting is idyllic—dozens of interconnected lakes, miles of walking paths, and charming wooden lodges nestled among trees. Upon arrival, check-in was quick and friendly, with staff offering a helpful overview of the facilities.
One of the standout features of Hoburne holiday parks in the Cotswolds Water Park location is its balance of natural beauty and well-thought-out amenities. While you feel surrounded by nature, you’re never far from a convenience store, café, or activity center.
Hoburne Cotswold Family Holiday Park is located within the scenic Cotswold Water Park. Guests can stay in a range of on-site self-catering accommodation, including lodges, chalets, and static caravans, or bring their own touring caravan or tent. The park is well organised, with clear signage throughout.

Home Away from Home at Hoburne Holidays : Our Deluxe Lodge with a Hot Tub
We booked a deluxe lodge with a hot tub, and it was worth every penny. The lodge itself was super spacious, impeccably clean, and came with a fully functioning kitchen—perfect for preparing meals together after a day of activities. From the moment we stepped inside, it was clear that attention to detail was a priority. High ceilings, tasteful décor, and comfortable furnishings made the space feel more like a boutique retreat than a typical holiday park.
But the real highlight? The private hot tub on the deck. Whether having a glass of fizz soaking under the stars or easing tired legs after a walk around the lakes, it quickly became one of our favorite part of the lodge. Just steps from the living area, it made the whole trip feel like a luxurious spa escape.
And of course, in true Cotswold Water Park fashion, our neighbours were friendly ducks that waddled up each morning to say hello. You definitely feel If you are looking for holiday parks in the UK with hot tubs this is up there with one of our best finds yet.

What Activities Are Included at Hoburne Cotswold Water Park?
Now, I never thought I’d say the words “beautiful soft play,” but Hoburne somehow makes even the indoor play area feel stylish. Designed with care and kept incredibly clean, the soft play area quickly became a favorite for the kids. The best part? It’s included in the price, along with access to the indoor swimming pool, which was another highlight.
The swimming pool was warm, modern, and inviting—ideal for both a swim and a splash-filled family play session. While we didn’t take any photos inside (because of issues taking pics in a public space like this), we’ve added a few images here to give you a glimpse of the facilities.

If you’ve got little ones—or adults with a nostalgic streak—the on-site arcade is small but perfectly formed. With classic games, air hockey, and of course the beloved 2p machines, it wouldn’t be a holiday without a go at those. We had a lot of laughs (and minor victories) there.
Reasonably Priced Extras: Go-Karts, Swan Pedalos, and More
While many holiday parks charge a premium for extras, Hoburne offers additional activities at surprisingly reasonable rates. We opted for two: a half-hour on the iconic Swan Pedalos, gently drifting across one of the lakes, and another half-hour zipping around in the go-karts. Both were just £10 each, which felt very fair considering the amount of fun we had.
These add-ons are perfect for breaking up the day and keeping everyone entertained, especially if you’re travelling with a mix of age groups. And there’s plenty more on offer, including mini-golf, nature trails, and organized seasonal events.
Natural Beauty and Peaceful Walks
Let’s talk about the lakes. The Cotswolds Water Park is a truly stunning setting, with over 150 lakes in the wider area, and several forming the backdrop of the Hoburne site itself. Walking trails meander around the water, offering peaceful strolls where you might spot swans, herons, or even the occasional paddleboarder.
There’s something deeply calming about having these watery vistas right on your doorstep. Whether enjoying a morning coffee on the deck, watching the mist lift from the lake, or going for an evening walk as the sun sets, the environment adds so much to the holiday.
Dining Options: Lakeside Views and Al Fresco Vibes
The on-site restaurant has indoor seating, but we gravitated toward the outdoor tables overlooking the lake. My daughter running around the nearby adventure playground and the scenic view stretching out in front of us, it was an ideal spot for a relaxed lunch or early dinner. We went in April and the weather was brilliant for eating and drinking outside.
The menu caters to all tastes—from pub classics like fish and chips to lighter salads and kids’ meals. Service was friendly and efficient, and the prices were reasonable.
For those preferring to dine in, the lodge’s kitchen made self-catering a breeze. We enjoyed several meals on our private deck, which we often find more relaxed with the kids, It’s those moments that really stick with you.
Seasonal Highlights: Outdoor Pool and Summer Fun
While we visited in spring, we noticed that during the summer months, Hoburne opens up their outdoor pool, which looked absolutely perfect for warmer days. Surrounded by loungers and close to the playground, it adds another layer of excitement for sunny getaways.
There are also seasonal activities and events, especially during school holidays, so it’s worth checking their calendar when planning your visit.
Why We’re Already Planning to Return to Cotswold Water Park
From the moment we left, we all said we’d be back. The combination of clean, modern lodges, engaging activities, natural beauty, and affordability makes Hoburne Cotswolds Holiday Park an easy favourite. It’s an ideal location for a UK staycation that doesn’t feel like a compromise.
Whether you’re spending quality time as a family, enjoying a romantic weekend, or catching up with friends, the park has something for everyone. The balance of indoor fun and outdoor adventure makes it weatherproof, and the relaxed atmosphere means you can do as much—or as little—as you like.
