Early Spring brings new chapters

This spring, I’ve been intentially leaning into slower mornings and simple pleasures. With the first real stretch of sunshine finally arriving, I took a quiet morning to myself: a good book on my Kindle, a coffee in hand, and an outfit that felt perfectly in tune with the season.

There’s something about spring that invites a reset. The air feels lighter, the days stretch a little longer, and suddenly everything feels full of possibility. It felt like the perfect moment to step into my own “main character” energy.

Spring dresses and coffee in the sun

I started my morning at a Juno Lounge on Wellfield Road, a small café tucked just off the high street, It has a sun room on the second floor that I love because it always catches the early sun. I brought along my Kindle, already loaded with my current book obsession — I’d love to say it’s a light, feel-good novel that matched the mood of the day but lets be real, its always a thriller. I’m a new Kindle reader but There’s something so effortless about having your entire library in one place, especially when you’re moving between home, cafés, and park benches as the weather warms up.

Warm tones

For my outfit, I wanted something that felt both comfortable and elevated — easy enough for a relaxed morning, but still styled with intention. I wore this beautiful spring dress (£28!) . The soft ribbed texture and button-through detail give it a flattering, elongated silhouette, while the warm orange tone feels like a nod to the golden hues of spring sunshine. It’s the kind of piece that moves effortlessly with you — ideal for slow strolls, spontaneous coffee stops, or simply sitting back and getting lost in a good book. It’s been ages since I’ve worn dresses and it made me excited for the warmer weather to come (even if I’m wearing this one with tights underneath!)

Layering with a denim jacket

Layered over the top, I added a light blue denim jacket — an absolute spring staple. At £29.99, it’s one of those pieces you’ll reach for again and again. The relaxed fit balanced the softness of the dress perfectly, adding a casual, everyday feel that made the whole look more wearable. It’s the kind of jacket that works with everything, whether you’re dressing up or keeping things low-key.

After finishing my coffee, I wandered to a nearby park, finding a quiet bench surrounded by newly blooming trees. Sitting there, Kindle in hand, I realised how much I’d missed these small, intentional moments over winter. It’s not just about what you wear or what you read — it’s about how those choices come together to shape your day. This season, I’m focusing on creating those little “story moments” more often, whether that’s through Spring dresses, a new book, or simply taking the time to slow down and enjoy where I am.
